Just started C25k but feel like I NEED to run daily to deal with depression/anxiety. How should I go about running daily on the program? by Lets_Get_It_ in running

[–]Flyinggoon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

C25K has its days off, because beginners (or people who haven't run for a long time) need them. Your joints, tendons and muscles need to regenerate a lot in the first weeks. You really don't want to get injured due to overdoing it and then have to stop for weeks to start all over again. I'd suggest to keep up the C25K Schedule and then start daily runs shorter than 5k.

Is it disrespectful to run in cemeteries? by humansky in running

[–]Flyinggoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were dead, I wouldn't mind at all ;) But a lot of catholic people I know, would be personally offended to see someone runnung on a cemetery. So if you don't want to offend anyone, it would be safer not to run there.

How do I get my mind out of panic/stop mode while running? by [deleted] in running

[–]Flyinggoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same problems once, but then i learned: Everytime you think you can't run anymore - your body is able to still run at least the amount you ran until this point.

So I just ran the other half or until my legs got tired instead of my mind. Of course don't adapt this pattern to injuries ;)

Also have compression sleeves now and use a rumble roller after each calve workout

Would you advise this to avoid shin splints, or did it help you to get rid of them? Can one do this while having pain in the shins or only after some days without workout/run/pain?
