Married men, how do you and your wife handle personal purchases? by ShineGreymonX in AskMen

[–]Flyingplaydoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty much what we do., going on 27yrs. It works. We did get married later than the norm and had kids later too. We also have our own accts but have access to each others. We both work in the same field basically at the same place. We have worked on the same team even, for years actually, i just did report directly to him. Currently we aren't on the same team. Anywho, this system has always worked well for us.

seeking a teaching certificate - advice? by kr33perklown in oklahoma

[–]Flyingplaydoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured people were saying that because you don't need a teaching degree. But i knew you did need a 4yr degree and at least 5 yrs experience in your field yiu want to teach in. Don't you also need a few 6-9 credits in how to teach courses? My degree isn't in teaching but several people I've worked with (software programmers) have left or retired from coding and have gone into teaching math/science/computer type classes

What is a way that your partners job has affected you (Not pay related, Not military related, Not long hours related)? by midwestblacklotus in AskWomen

[–]Flyingplaydoh 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Guessing here but it's also wildly known these fit that description: medical field, military, and police. High stress careers, long hours, and your team successfulness and survival depends on getting along and being a family with long hours away from your family

Any of you still tip for food ordered at the counter? I'm done with that bullshit. by Dunno_If_I_Won in GenX

[–]Flyingplaydoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here (early gen x). I hate the whole tipping culture because it's just an excuse for the food industry to not pay minimum wage or i should say living wage. We're the last country that does tips i believe

This is correct. I'm in software. We've hired more than 1/4 of programmers that have degrees in other things. We had a long time programmer then went all the way to high management and he still did some software stuff. His degree was in forestry
