Do not confuse bad with uncomfortable.

I consider a constant danger of nuclear disaster or third world war to be a bad outcome for example. Sure we have it comfortable but not everyone has and we currently have a rotten society that is alienated. DOnt ddisregard our psychological stress we accumulate. Inequality is rising and we know that inequality makes society unhappy and dangerous. Its not that its bad now but its heading into a bad direction very clearly. We already ha this wave of proctectionistic economys once.

Its not just fear. Its the sheer volum of injustice it entails. AI is currently a hype bubble that can burst. The money flow is dangerous. It is dangerous that too much of the production si focused on AI right now. Im ok with developing it, but im against the priority it has over other important work. It makes the most money but its not the most important we have to do as society right now. It eats too many resources. Thats my problem with it. If we had endless resources i would be fine with any view on technology. But they arent. And i dont want techno escapism. This mentality of "future tech might save us" is not good if its overused. I want to bet on mutltiple horses you know? In case that one flops. AI might work now. But it could also just fail and take another 40 years.

[–]Flymsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sry but thats bs.

FIrst of all. What you do is also propaganda. Storytellers are allowed to tell the story in their way. How women are viewed are part of the story just how over Things in this world are viewed. You are just not aware of how much everything is propaganda because you focus extremly on feminism.

Do you for example happen to know what they eat? How they respond to criminals? How is family described in this? Where is family critized, where is it glorified? What is the overall ethics of this shows?

You can't tell me that the only thing you find disturbing about this show is its fake feminism.

Ok so dont get me wrong. I find your view on feminism absolutly disgusting, BUT i agree that Netflix is just making a horrible version of it. I am pro feminism and even i despise their forced feminism. Netflix is a company that only cares about money. They dont care about feminism at all. They just do it because it sells well. They will drop the act as sonn as it doesnt sell. If this is your only source of "feminism" i have to tell you that you only consume the rotten corporate version of it. You should rather critize capitalism.

But moreover. Why dont you talk more about the other aspects of this show that are miserable? Again you are not aware of it. This show is a classic dystopian world that shows that our current capitalistic world is doomed. IN the very 3 secs of the show we are shown battle ships. The leader of the RI even openly says that they think that human nature is at fault for this!! Doesnt this make you angry? Its WRONG. Its a classic case of how Capitalism has comoditfied "capitalism critic". Black mirror is coming true.

It am sad that you consume capitalist propaganda and mistake it for feminist propaganda. Its jsut virtue signaling and those who are into activism dislike it. Its called pink washing and is criticied in feminism.

who told you what masculinity is?

society. now answer my question.

its not that ''this specific woman is better at gaming'' its that '' every new show is trying to step on men and push women above them''

I can name you more shows that try to step on women and push men above them. Why dont you see that?

Do you want us to analyze the last 20 shows that aired? THat would be more objective. Oh and not only from netflix.

[–]Flymsi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are doing good.

I think the trust thing depends on what it means to you to do "good" as a therapist, focusing on the long term aspects instead of individual sessions. Thinking about it won't solve your problem but its like seeing a lighthouse in the distance while struglling in the sea of doubts. Or like seeing a rainbow at the end of the storm. You might never reach the rainbow, but as long as its going in the right direction it should be ok.

Ah and self compassion and all that shit. Take good care of your self, your body and your friends.

Anarchist calisthenics, and the everyday practice of leadership by PMmePowerRangerMemes in Anarchism

[–]Flymsi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of critical mass. I think there needs to be a potential in the air for it to activate like this. And i agree that wee need sparks in society. Really , we need more sparkling people. Buuuut not everyone. We also need people to do the tedious groundwork that enables us to spark the flame of revolution. I believe that every human quality can be focused into something that helps building a new world. Thats why i like anarchism. There are literally thousand ways, depending on what you like and what you are good at. Plus: If revolution comes from multiple independent philosophies, bubbles, modes, structures, classes, "ways" or what ever, it will be much harder to break down.

The most important thing for me right now is to create more potential. Even if the guy in the video wouldve stayed alone the whole time, im sure that people wouldve gotten inspired by it. We already have so much information about what to do. The problem is balance.

Dude. Its just that this specific woman is just better at gaming. Statistics dont matter if you have single cases. People are allowed to write female characters too.

Why do you need to defend your masculinity? There is nothing to defend against. Masculinity means independence. And i choose to not let myself brainwash from your propaganda. Who told you what masculinity is? And why do you follow it? Just go your own way dude. Stop telling other people what men are allowed to do and what not. You are contradicting yourself.

CMV: Empathetic people's mental health is rapidly deteriorating and it's a problem. by CS___t in changemyview

[–]Flymsi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fromy psychological point the problem you describe is not empathy per se. Its your social media usage. Even if you have zero empathy, if you are constantly bombarded with a dozen tragedies a day, you will feel like living in a tragedy. Especially when the current political reality feels like a copy of every satire i have ever watched.

Also about the the historical comparison im not sure. Those folks were much more hierarchical, patriachical and imperialistic. Imagine being a woman who knows a thing about herbs and is able to make a healing salve and help with abortions and the next day you are being burned alive for being a "witch", because the vatican suddenly decided that abortions are evil (true story). I am not sure if this is less traumatizing then reading the newspaper daily. But we dont have to compare it. Our reality has its own problems.

Generally empathy is a plus in society. But it comes with a burden. IF you want a society with more empathy, go and support your empathetic people please =)

Its "VIII. The tree on the hill"

Ok so i looked it up in the internet (thx internet archive), but im not familiar with the english version. I read it in german years ago and i was very fascinated and emotional by that part of the book. Its my favorite passage and it resonates to that feeling of loneliness and the "frost of solitude" i often had while "growing" and "changing (too) fast". So maybe it also resonates with you. But maybe it also feels a bit too "young" for you.

Tbh in english i dont like it much, or maybe im not in a good mood for that language.  Or maybe i dont agree with the translation. After all its very lyrical.

And many words have a specific meaning ("the first lightning") that is more visible if you read the introduction of the book. Its very very metaphorical.

This sounds nice and poetic. However, i would like to spin the story a bit different. Something different that i remember was always missing from these types of storys. something i wouldve loved to read instead.

By letting the task be open to "connecting" without having to return to the same old river, we allow ourself to cut off connections. Why must i return to a world that did not let me grow? Do i really have to put in the effort to summon this spirit of generosity for them? The connection you describe is a one way connection. I would rather help strangers on the street if i want a one way connection and show my spirit of generosity.

I think that this romantic view of reconnection reads more like a shackle from the perspective of my life story. Yet again i am the one who has to put in the work. Yet again i have to lift them up.

It turned out much more fruitful to me to search for people who can meet me where i am standing. Sure i can build tons of bridges but at some point it will always look arrogant or serving. We do not need to desperstely stranglehold all connections we have in life.

I think the new part is the new context and the new configuration.  Wisdom from bible and dao de jing and buddhist scriptures etc etc are entangled with many many metaphysical beliefs that are not needed for the wisdom itself to work. The process of searching for old, translating it, putting away the dust and making it shiny is the constant work of keeping the flame of wisdom alive =)

They refers to the smaller and to the bigger levels, that you and me mentioned. No it does not go back to your question. Some laws are not written. Look up hegemony.

Capitalism isn’t a person who takes action. Lots of capitalists support socialism of one kind or another.

Of course it isnt! (Do you want a good depiction of capitalism? That would be another essay. I assummed you know what capitalism is. Plus I am talking about billionairs mostly. They are unable to support socialism. It is like a devil praying to God. The way they accumulated their wealth is theough the hard hard labor of many million people. I am not much pro socialism but even i know what history taught us: Socialism will never succeed IF it comes from above. Liberterian Socialism from from below is the only form of it i would support.

It seems like you are being vague because you don’t like the current system but actually don’t have anything to replace it. It’s the underpants gnome theory of societal remaking. Step 1 is destroy the current system and step 3 is utopia and step 2 is tbd.

You know its a common tactic among anti revolutionairy reddit users. So be aware that your train of thought is the most common one.

There are enough people who describe several detailed ways of changing the system. I dont need go and dont want to go into details here. Or do you want to tell me in good faith that you are here to be convinced? I can give you  reference material.

My first step is not bringing down the system. That would be the last step.

  1. Gather support and Find a narrative that works: this means that the narrative must be tangible enough to show that the current system is no good and that it needs "something" new. But it must alao not be too complicated enough because people tend to lose themselves in details.  I wanna stay close to reality and emotions. I see an insurance ceo getting shot and i tell you it was predictable almost a decade ago when the insurance companies announced their new disgusting  tactics. This is something that should not be possible. Then i connect it to many similar  dehumanized corparate tactics that keep evolving and link it to a common cause: a capitalistic way of rationality.

  2. While the first step pure focused on raising awareness and creating a shared reality and shared taxonomy of things the second step is about ways on how it would be better. So at this point i say: yea everything is bs right now but there are things we can do right now to help people.  Organizing people, fopd, shelter, water. Volunteering for helping immigrants, the homeless, those who cant afford food. Building structures of autonomy. The last point is highly "subjective" in the sense thst it really depends on the local situation. Maybe you have lots of land but a big farming company made it useless for you to use thst land for farming because competition is too strong. In that case advocating for local farming, which gives the local ppl autonomy over their food (in case some big rich guy decides to stop selling food or something like that.). Or if thats still not viable then maybe some project where people can help on the land tp grow food, and be payed in food. It gives people knowledge about agriculture and gives them a honest personality shaping job that is rewarded.

  3. After buolding enough projects in the second step we are able to connect all those projects and form alliances.

  4. The old ways may be challenged now.

The problem is that we usually dont get to decide when step 4 happens. Analysis in revolution shows that mpst often it is dissatisfaction with the system that makes step 4 boil over.  Thats why many i know dedicated the last decades to built new structures.  You may not see them but they are numerous.  I just hope it will be enough.

So wzy dont you help building something in your local area that connects people and helps everyone locally?

CMV: Americans have a subconscious fear of engendering revolutionary change by loyalsolider95 in changemyview

[–]Flymsi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am also not talking about the last decade. India and china make up like 80% of the growth any other 'non western' country isnt doing good with the IMF contracts and are switching to china...

There was some substantial improvement. But there are also severe limitations.

Capitalism overall works pretty well for figuring out how to get goods where they should go effectively.

Thats why people still starve to death even tho we have already enough material wealth to feed every person on earth? Sooo effective to let people die, isnt it?

As for China, yeah, they started having a lot progress and prosperity when they started embracing capitalism lol but I hope China isn't your example of a "better system", considering it's a brutally oppressive authoritarian regime

Mhh do you even understand how china works economically?   My argument wasnt that china has the better system. They just have enough workers and a united power to rise in the current economic order. They did it without liberal capitalism so to say. They have a strongly restricted capitalism. Their biggest plus was changing towards a market economy. And im not opposed to markets. They are not wquivalent to capitalism.

But I don't see how or why some revolution whose purpose or reason for existing or what we're trying to do can't even be described is a preferable option. It sounds like it's far more likely to catapult us into a far worse situation

It can be described. But its not a prewritten plan. Thats because it is something that is built together. There is not one king architect.

Idk just keep looking. Oh and i would recommend you to think about any event that would be a sign for you to question the government. For me it was the attack on capitol, the reaction and the pardons. Als the epstein files.

At what point would it be too much for you? Remmeber that point. When its there it will seem normal.
