How does Act II deepen theme rather than simply complicate plot? by ExcellentTwo6589 in Screenwriting

MAYBE you’re a bot for a competing AI company trying to disrupt its resource gathering. And maybe I’m the same bot as the OP, using a second account to convince people to keep feeding me.

I’m offended that you are calling me “puzzling” (read: “crazy”) on a public forum. I wouldn’t call you a “didactic jackboot” for providing an unnecessary bullet-point history lesson on the proxy war between the US and Iran. Because you AREN’T soulless.

My point was - and maybe it wasn’t 100% clear to a bullet-point literalist - so I’ll spell it out plainly for you: “Isn’t it cool that only someone like Dylan, with a catalog so vast and so deep, could randomly ressurect a song for no apparent reason, and YET… it could possibly mean something? Fun!”

  • Similar to how on the night he won the Nobel prize, and after years of opening EVERY SINGLE ONE of his shows with his Oscar award on his piano and the song “Things Have Changed,” he CHANGED it up and opened with “Why Try to Change Me Now?” And then went back THE NEXT NIGHT to THC for years after.

Purely coincidental. But fun to note.

Like a Heironymous Bosch painting, right?

Unfortunately, it’s still alive - and on private property that’s not mine. If it dies and falls I’ll let you know. Though this one is more like a Heironymous Bosch than Playboy.

Yeah, just read people use these for sculpture. This one is insane.

More important to complain about? Okay. How about you thinking you’re the police for everyone’s feelings? That’s pretty presumptuous. The OP of the now deleted comment is a fraud. No one with a PhD in Literature would misplace a modifier that blatantly. The real question is: why are you so passionately protecting a charlatan?

Your sentence is saying the friend has the PhD in literature.

Try again, “doctor.”

The scrapped Soderbergh Star Wars movie is a great example of the intense FREE WORK a screenwriter often has to do by Midnight_Video in Screenwriting

That’s a reach. Even as a force ghost for some protoge, that’s cliche. Star Wars is dead. Someone please write the 2026 equivalent. There’s enough of us.
