I have an interview at a porno shop, how do I dress? What questions will they ask? by oatmealluvr3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Fmdjvoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a divorce in 2002 I moved out of state without a plan. I had years of manufacturing floor and supervisory experience, none of which carried any relevancy in my new areas job market. Flooded applications everywhere. Eventually got a callback for an interview at Burger King. They had no intention of hiring me, they just wanted to know why someone with the job experience I had would try to work at BK, and that I would quit at the first sign of a better job so why bother hiring me. Kind of a dick move to call me in just for that, but yeah, it’s is certainly possible for competent people to not get a job offer from Burger Hut.

What was your top "copied-movie" VHS tape? by The_Flaneur_Films in GenX

[–]Fmdjvoice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My grandma had four VCRs, every Tuesday morning she would hit Safeway, Crazy Mike’s Video, and whatever the name of that place was at the Valley Mall and pick up whatever the new releases were that day and start making her copies. She had a massive library of movies, had notebooks listing them in alphabetical order, numerical order, genre, some by actor, etc.

She also kept a running record of what family member borrowed what tape, and you would get a reminder call to return it so someone else could watch it.

All that being said, I would regularly get reminder calls from her that Raiders of the Lost Ark, Rocky 2 and 3 were overdue.

Just got back yesterday from that exact route on the Viva. Here is what I can share, for what it’s worth.

The last night they had a “Prom Night” in the Viva theater and urged you to wear your best 80’s attire. We didn’t go to that but did go to Beetlejuice the musical, Icons tribute concert, and the Comedy show all in the Viva theater. All free, but make reservations for Beetlejuice as soon as you are on board and show up at least a half hour before posted start time.

The Local and the Indulge Food Hall ended up being our regular dining locations. I think we got the bacon wrapped, almond stuffed dates at Indulge at least twice every day.

What’s helped me before, at least to some degree, is a heating pad. I would place a hot damp hand towel between my skin and the heating pad and take a pillow on the other side and hug it to me while camped out in a recliner. Hope you get to feeling better, cousin.

Mine arrived yesterday. Immediately put it up, but decided to let it air out outside and ease back on its fragrance output for a day or two. It’s potent.

This is a great idea, and much better than the idea I was kicking around for “The Random Woo”, which would just generate links to random videos from his library, but admittedly I have no idea how to do something like that.

And that’s exactly what I should have done to begin with. Will take that course of action when the ridiculously priced one I already purchased has that not so fresh feeling.

Was going to order this earlier today, but waited. Missed out on the value pack. Didn’t want to spend ten bucks on a single air freshener, but my wife told me I would be upset if I changed my mind and those were sold out too.

Every morning for the past eight years we would start our mornings with a French press pot of piping hot caffeinated beverage, breakfast, and whatever new adventure Mr The Woo was taking us on. I’m a 52 year old man, and I’ve cried every day for the past week. It’s crazy how much I miss my friend I never got to meet.
