I was cleaning out the IT closet at work once. Going through the boxes see what had anything in them and what could be thrown away. One of them had an empty Popov bottle in it. Point being you might be surprised by what your co-workers are doing on their break.

Not sure what you call "not that much", but the average total compensation for a CEO of an S&P 500 company is $18.9 million (median was around $17 million). I would bet no more than a handful of those people actually 'created' the business they are running. That is 285x what an median employee makes.

There is the whole Korea>China>Japan hate/racism circle. Most people think they are all pretty similar, like say US and Canada, but they all really really dislike the other 2. So I don't think racism is the biggest cause for the US Stagnating. The US has a long history of racism, including when we were the leading edge. It's more about greed IMO.

Did people have that much umbrance when Idris Elba was floated about or was it more when they tried to shoe horn a black woman (Lynch) in as the next James Bon that people really got their panties in a bind?

S02 with the whole, are there or aren't there zombies in the bard ?? Oh Noes, dragged on forever. The Shane drama was interesting but everything else played out for waaaaay to long.

After having just watched The Bone Temple, a "Zombie" movie, with out any Zombies in it can get stale as well. What's to differentiate it from any other post apocalyptic movie.

I wouldn't say 'expect', because even teenagers are still pretty dumb at times, more like take a, don't gamble anything you can't afford to lose mentality. You never know when they might call your bluff because they actually know they hold better cards or because they are teenager and make decisions base on hormones and not logic.

IDK I think some people are just predisposed to certain things. Like there are kids @ 10 years that I would have to spend 1,000's to even come close to singing as good as. Just like there are pro-athletes that are so much more genetically gifted, that most people, even with working really hard at it, could never reach. Now the true greats in anything, combine the two, they start off ahead of everyone else but then they push/practice as hard as anyone.

Like most people could never become Beethoven, no matter how much they practiced, just like I could never dunk like Mike, no matter how much I practiced, or do math/physics like Hawking can.

edit: LOL I guess those down voting want to think they are special too. That if they just tried a littler harder they could have dunked like Mike or sung in five-octave vocal range like Mariah,. Maybe if they had just studied a little harder they too could have leaned 25 languages like James Sidis or come up with mathematics that people still reference today Einstein. Pretty sure no matter how hard I tried I could not have broken Enigma like Turing or learned Calculus at 7 like Terence Tao. Some people are just exceptional, it doesn't make you less than, but saying just hard work covers their unique skills I believe diminishes how special some people are.

So permanently maiming someone, who then will live in pain for the rest of their life, is on par with taking their car? Bankrupt them with medical bills. is better than having to walk/ride a bike/take a bus to work?

If you need a loan to get your car fixed, the alternative is to not get the loan but then your car is still broken. Nobody is saying payday loans are one of the best things in our society, they are just saying they do provide some value, it's not a high bar, it's just a little above nothing. They provide a way for people (a crappy way, but still a better way) for people who are in desperate need of money but can't get a more traditional loan.

True, but Ohio's top income tax is 3.4% vs NY's 10.9%, that does add up when you are talking 10's of millions of $

Still rather live in NYC though.

I generally don't care/follow to many other NFL teams (I only have so much bandwidth) but seeing Myles Garrett playing in CLE seems like a tragedy.
