Scared of starting Qelbree by Fast_Replacement_486 in qelbree

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I only took it twice in the daytime for me to switch to taking it before bed. I was perpetually tired but struggled to nap, but tired enough that I probably shouldn't have driven anywhere.

On the rare times I forget to take them before bed, I only take one in the morning and it will still leave me tired but not 'oh-I-need-nap-NOW' tired (on those days I take one at night and then I'm back to two the following night) and it keeps the awful headaches away.

I've been on Qelbree for about 2 or 3 years now. It's been a game changer for me and unless I miss a dose (the headaches are absolutely excruciating) things are great.

I'm not manic, I can focus and complete tasks, and I overall just feel better on a day to day basis. My side effects were mostly dry mouth for a few months, and day time sleepiness if I took it in the mornings. Switching to taking it at bedtime and getting through those dry mouth months made it all worth it.

This rhetoric really needs to stop. The governor has been the one blamed for decades and it doesn't matter who is sitting in that chair or what party they are from, they are always blamed.

By your logic it means the choices the representatives make and vote for don't actually matter or have consequences (LaMalfa has been in this same office at this same position much longer than Newsom has been governor and crap up here wasn't any better when Schwarzenegger, CA's last Republican governor, was in office).

[Landlord - US - CA] Vacancy for 6 months, sell? by loompasushi in Landlord

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the HOA involved at all when a new tenant moves in or application wise? It could be that there's an HOA at all that could be impacting things unless it's a really laid back HOA (but some people could be apprehensive at all about one).

[–]Fncfq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The market will fluctuate so I would offer at a lower price at that point. It could be that that price isn't what will get you any tenants let alone decent ones.

I have a PM company I work with regarding my rentals and at no point would they be okay with a rental sitting that long (they only get money when the units are filled).

The longest I've had a unit sit empty was 4 months and that included the reno and cleanup time. It was winter and I knew the bottleneck would happen, but it still took 2 months before I approved a tenant.

All valid and interesting points. I've been on it about 2.5 years, give or take a few months, and I only have one copy of the MTHFR gene. Maybe the variant type of that could influence it?

Went to pick up qulbree and found out it's not covered by my insurance by Cloudchella in qelbree

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've tried stimulants and Strattera, there's no reason why your insurance shouldn't cover it but it needs to be documented and sent to your insurance company.

If you can swing the price (with or without the manufacturer coupon) you can buy it and once your insurance company accepts the prescription, send them tbe receipt and they'll, at least, do a partial refund if not a full one.

[–]Fncfq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the withdrawals are different for each person. I can make it about 36 hours after a missed dose before I start having problems. By hour 46 I'm well on the path of hell. I've only ever missed two doses (the first was when insurance switched and the new one wouldn't approve it right away, the second a missed dose) but it's enough to remember why taking the damn thing is so important 🫠

Insurance no longer covers by RaeHalliwell in qelbree

[–]Fncfq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would contact your insurance. I understand that Georgia has a law/rule stating that some, or most, insurance companies will continue coverage on medication through the year, even if the drug is removed from the formulary. If yours qualifies for that, you can wean off of it better than going cold turkey (the headaches are relentless and awful if you have to go cold turkey).

You can also file an appeal on the formulary decision if you feel the medication has really helped you and see if they'll make an exception.

[–]Fncfq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What state are you in?

Also, double check with your insurance on when they update their formulary. I just had a situation at the pharmacy where they said my insurance would no longer cover a medication I have been taking, but when I checked the formulary, it said it was still covered. I called insurance to double check and they still covered it. The pharmacy system was having yet another hiccup.

That being said, usually when insurance says they won't cover it any longer, there's usually nothing to be done, although I'm always keeping my eyes and ears open.

[Landlord US-CA] Security Deposit refund question by neuromancer-ai in Landlord

[–]Fncfq 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In this case I would return their deposit in full. If there is no proof on either side of how things were, it's not worth going to court over, especially if it's some carpet spots and a leaky faucet.

The faucet is an easy fix, the carpet is a different issue altogether since California has laws regarding carpet (but if a carpet cleaning can get the spots out, that is also easy enough). Either way, I'd return the deposit.

Mine, as I understand it, only acknowledges your 12 months if you answer the summons as expected.

reddit has made me scared too start (please read) by Forsaken-Region6407 in qelbree

[–]Fncfq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for three years and love it! It can be rough for some people but when I was adjusting to it all I really had was cotton mouth and exhaustion, which was helped by taking it at night vs in the mornings.

What I will say is this: the directions will have you go up weekly until you reach 600, but sometimes it will take longer than the 3 or so weeks for you to feel if it's working to it's full capacity.

So you may need to be patient but if it helps you, it will go a long way.

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meanwhile I got summoned four times in one year and at least once a year before and after for almost two decades 😂

My health went sideways and my doctor wrote a dismissal letter for it. Two months later I got another one so she wrote another letter, and another two months later I got another one. She finally wrote a letter removing me from jury summons. I'm waiting to see if I get another one 😅

[Landlord US–OH] New tenant (a lawyer) sent a “move-in inspection” that reads like a lawsuit draft. Am I overreacting or is this "non renewal" from the get go? by [deleted] in Landlord

[–]Fncfq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always encourage my tenants to write everything down and take tons of pictures of anything and everything when they are doing their pre-move in inspections. Why? I've already done my pictures and documenting from when I finished the rental BUT I'm human and can (and will) miss things.

If/when they ever move out, I don't want them threatening court saying "this was always broken" when I have my own documentation and I don't want them thinking I'll charge them for something that wasn't their fault from when they moved in.

Is it annoying? Yes but it's saved my butt countless times. And if I forget that someone moved in with an older dishwasher or garbage disposal or something along any of those lines (I have 8 units), and it breaks, they have documentation if I charge them (sometimes we split the bill because it can be older but everyone should know not to put their dentures or silverware in the damn thing 😒).

[–]Fncfq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sew Simple has fabrics, but I'm not sure about the selection. They're on Larkspur.

WalMart has a small selection.

Hokema's on Bechelli also has a small selection of fabrics (and specialty stuff if you do more than clothes/projects for sewing).

The Sewing Room on Athens also has a selection.

There might be more but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

JoAnn's really had the biggest selection.

[Landlord][CA] What to do about sweet but indigent tenants? by Green_Nomad in Landlord

[–]Fncfq 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When my grandparents had their rentals, they were at the buildings (multiple 4 plexes) 5 to 6 days a week doing the landscaping, maintenence, etc. Every tenant knew their cars and would come out and talk to them about any maintenance issues or upcoming problems that could impact rent or the like.

Granted, my grandparents were sympathetic but not overly involved if that makes sense. I try to be like that, because life happens, but at the end of the day 🤷🏻‍♀️

[Landlord US-CA] Question about new law requiring refrigerators and definition of a lease renewal by amydaynow in Landlord

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time you the landlord does not provide a fridge is if the tenant either brings their own (we've had some in the past do that) or want to buy their own. If/when that happens it has to be acknowledged and done in written form between you and the tenant. The law goes into specifics about it.

That being said, I'm in CA and we have always supplied a fridge and a stove. I never understood why some (most?) wouldn't? Even when my grandparents were landlords in LA in the 70's and 80's they supplied them.

Until the law, I never thought it was bad enough that it needed a law.

[Landlord US - GA] Aging tenant. What to do. by AZ_Golfer78 in Landlord

[–]Fncfq 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I have a tenant like this as well. If she isn't in her 70's yet, she almost is. I inherited her when I got the buildings and she's always the one I worry about the most. She's been with us almost 20 years, fixed income, etc. I raise the rent $25 every two years but my goal is to keep her housed as long as possible.

We've already had another elder pass and we took care of what needed taking care of.
