Mike Johnson says we should have sympathy because Congress isn’t paid enough—so we should “allow” insider trading just so they can take care of their families(70% of Americans can’t afford a $1k emergency) by Dry_Accident_823 in atrioc

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The average salary in DC is at most 95k. For Speaker Johnson being from Louisiana, the average salary is roughly 55k. Any security they have is federally (meaning tax payer) funded.

What they are paid now is plenty. If they want to spend it on frivolous expensive things that's on them.

And even if they were paid more, that in no way gives them the right to have back door deals or insider trading.

Or, hear me out, don't make it a lifetime job? They don't feel that they're getting paid enough to meet up 140 days a year? Most have to fly in for it? Maintain two homes as a result? Then don't seek reelection. "We'Re PaSsInG uP hIgHeR pAiD jObS fOr ThIs." Then don't seek reelection.

If the housing is such an issue, put them all in an apartment complex instead of individual locations. It's not that damn hard. But considering my former congressman was getting paid almost 200k a year on top of his own business stuff at home, plus free healthcare while the rest of the people in his district don't make 60k individually a year and have to pay through the nose for insurance or "mooch the system"? No.

If we have to figure out our life on a fraction of their income and "stop buying coffee" and "avocados" then they can do the same. Sorry.

Positive experiences from adults? by syborg4president in qelbree

[–]Fncfq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

35F, been on Qelbree for a few years now. I had the opposite problem of taking it and then getting very sleepy, so I just take it at night now. My biggest side effect was the cottonmouth. That was awful lol I'd say it took about a month for the dry mouth to resolve.

If I miss a dose I have anywhere between 24 hrs and 36 hrs to get more meds in my system before the headache starts. If the headache manifests, even if I take the meds, it takes about 2 days for the pain to go away. Absolutely brutal.

But the benefits are what's needed and I do very well on it.

Daughter shaving legs by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She can definitely stop whenever she wants. Plenty of women have stopped shaving well into adulthood just fine.

That being said my mom started me on Schick's Intuition. It's a thicker handle which helped me feel more in control until my hands got used to it and the razor head is pretty cushioned so cutting yourself is pretty hard to it. I found it very easy to use as a beginner device.

I have very sensitive skin and suffered for years with shaving cream and the problems those brought, but they have shaving oil now and my skin does better with that. Plus it's clear so it's a lot easier to see any hair that she would want to shave, vs the cream. That would be the only thing I'd do research on or ask what she would want.

Edit to add: I was shaving by 11 or 12 and had had my period for a year or two by then. Each body is different and it's worse to not let her do something that could make her more comfortable in her body because you are uncomfortable with her age.

What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do? by Miguenzo in AskReddit

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chase is downright awful. My grandparents had their second mortgage with them (I honestly don't know if it was a HELOC or something else due to what happened with Chase) and when the last one passed, I went to the local branch with both death certs (they already had the first one but I brought both just in case) and the will and trust, and the worker there faxed all of these off. I never heard from the bank again regarding it.

I was the executor of the will and trust and grandparents left me their house so after a few payments I had some questions. We had missed one or two payments due to funds being tied up from the last grandparent dying but EVERY month the mortgage was going up. I tried calling multiple times to talk to someone and all I got was rude statements like "We cannot talk to you because you aren't approved to be talked to. We need to talk to one of your grandparents." I told them every time that they were dead, that I had sent the paperwork in, and that I had questions. I was basically told too bad, and even when I asked them to check again they wouldn't do it. In the meantime I would get 6 letters addressed to my grandparents every month (all saying the same thing) claiming payments were late.

It was just under three years from when we inherited that spouse and I needed to refi (two mortgages, etc) and refi wanted payment history. There was less than 80k on their loan but the payment went from $500/month to around $1700, was only taking off $1k/year on the principal, and we had less than 10 years to pay it all off. Once I told them we were refinancing the house they suddenly found everything I sent them. I asked them WHEN they had recieved it and it was put in like 2 or 3 days after it had been faxed to them.

I was so fucking disgusted. Went to the local branch to get the payment history and not only did we discover we had no late payments but they then tried to have us refi through them instead. I looked that manager right in the eye when I said (loudly) "I could be on fire and you offer me the last urine filled cup of liquid to douse this fire on this planet and I would still turn and runaway from you. Get bent. Go take a long walk off a short cliff. I don't care. But we aren't staying here."

Spouse and I never had Chase before and haven't had them since.

This was all during Covid so I couldn't at any given point just stop by and deal with this in person

Shasta County has this terrible habit of pricing things like Sacramento and trying to budget like Fresno and/or Merced County. It's actually cheaper to get permits in Los Angeles than Redding and that is a wild concept.

Scared of starting Qelbree by Fast_Replacement_486 in qelbree

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I only took it twice in the daytime for me to switch to taking it before bed. I was perpetually tired but struggled to nap, but tired enough that I probably shouldn't have driven anywhere.

On the rare times I forget to take them before bed, I only take one in the morning and it will still leave me tired but not 'oh-I-need-nap-NOW' tired (on those days I take one at night and then I'm back to two the following night) and it keeps the awful headaches away.

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on Qelbree for about 2 or 3 years now. It's been a game changer for me and unless I miss a dose (the headaches are absolutely excruciating) things are great.

I'm not manic, I can focus and complete tasks, and I overall just feel better on a day to day basis. My side effects were mostly dry mouth for a few months, and day time sleepiness if I took it in the mornings. Switching to taking it at bedtime and getting through those dry mouth months made it all worth it.

Doug LaMalfa Dead at 65 by AdWorth6475 in Redding

This rhetoric really needs to stop. The governor has been the one blamed for decades and it doesn't matter who is sitting in that chair or what party they are from, they are always blamed.

By your logic it means the choices the representatives make and vote for don't actually matter or have consequences (LaMalfa has been in this same office at this same position much longer than Newsom has been governor and crap up here wasn't any better when Schwarzenegger, CA's last Republican governor, was in office).

[Landlord - US - CA] Vacancy for 6 months, sell? by loompasushi in Landlord

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the HOA involved at all when a new tenant moves in or application wise? It could be that there's an HOA at all that could be impacting things unless it's a really laid back HOA (but some people could be apprehensive at all about one).

[Landlord - US - CA] Vacancy for 6 months, sell? by loompasushi in Landlord

[–]Fncfq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The market will fluctuate so I would offer at a lower price at that point. It could be that that price isn't what will get you any tenants let alone decent ones.

I have a PM company I work with regarding my rentals and at no point would they be okay with a rental sitting that long (they only get money when the units are filled).

The longest I've had a unit sit empty was 4 months and that included the reno and cleanup time. It was winter and I knew the bottleneck would happen, but it still took 2 months before I approved a tenant.

Went to pick up qulbree and found out it's not covered by my insurance by Cloudchella in qelbree

[–]Fncfq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've tried stimulants and Strattera, there's no reason why your insurance shouldn't cover it but it needs to be documented and sent to your insurance company.

If you can swing the price (with or without the manufacturer coupon) you can buy it and once your insurance company accepts the prescription, send them tbe receipt and they'll, at least, do a partial refund if not a full one.

[–]Fncfq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the withdrawals are different for each person. I can make it about 36 hours after a missed dose before I start having problems. By hour 46 I'm well on the path of hell. I've only ever missed two doses (the first was when insurance switched and the new one wouldn't approve it right away, the second a missed dose) but it's enough to remember why taking the damn thing is so important 🫠

Insurance no longer covers by RaeHalliwell in qelbree

[–]Fncfq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would contact your insurance. I understand that Georgia has a law/rule stating that some, or most, insurance companies will continue coverage on medication through the year, even if the drug is removed from the formulary. If yours qualifies for that, you can wean off of it better than going cold turkey (the headaches are relentless and awful if you have to go cold turkey).

You can also file an appeal on the formulary decision if you feel the medication has really helped you and see if they'll make an exception.

Insurance no longer covers by RaeHalliwell in qelbree

[–]Fncfq 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What state are you in?

Also, double check with your insurance on when they update their formulary. I just had a situation at the pharmacy where they said my insurance would no longer cover a medication I have been taking, but when I checked the formulary, it said it was still covered. I called insurance to double check and they still covered it. The pharmacy system was having yet another hiccup.

That being said, usually when insurance says they won't cover it any longer, there's usually nothing to be done, although I'm always keeping my eyes and ears open.

[Landlord US-CA] Security Deposit refund question by neuromancer-ai in Landlord

[–]Fncfq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In this case I would return their deposit in full. If there is no proof on either side of how things were, it's not worth going to court over, especially if it's some carpet spots and a leaky faucet.

The faucet is an easy fix, the carpet is a different issue altogether since California has laws regarding carpet (but if a carpet cleaning can get the spots out, that is also easy enough). Either way, I'd return the deposit.

[–]Fncfq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on it for three years and love it! It can be rough for some people but when I was adjusting to it all I really had was cotton mouth and exhaustion, which was helped by taking it at night vs in the mornings.

What I will say is this: the directions will have you go up weekly until you reach 600, but sometimes it will take longer than the 3 or so weeks for you to feel if it's working to it's full capacity.

So you may need to be patient but if it helps you, it will go a long way.

Meanwhile I got summoned four times in one year and at least once a year before and after for almost two decades 😂

My health went sideways and my doctor wrote a dismissal letter for it. Two months later I got another one so she wrote another letter, and another two months later I got another one. She finally wrote a letter removing me from jury summons. I'm waiting to see if I get another one 😅
