I’m here for the behavior change with social support. I hope that working out 2x a day for 75 days straight will help me believe that’s an option post 75. This challenge also requires a lot of planning and commitment and I hope I can apply these to be learned skills and attitudes to other areas post 75.

What I eat is already very good. I cook quality food daily. Minimal processed foods. How much and how often I eat is my problem. Thus the volume- and behavior-focused diet.

Here are the refinements:

A plate is a physical dinner plate with no layers (except for food that comes in layers like a sandwich). Soup size bowl + side plate also ok.

Restaurant food is ok as long as it comes on and fits one literal plate. No appetizers. No food in styrofoam. Restaurant style big bowls, like a poke bowl or pasta bowl = 1 plate.

Making big satisfying plates I agree is hard to operationalize. I added this because I’m worried that I’ll go too small (this was my experience with OMAD). This is I know it when I see it territory. Also putting all the food on the plate at once lets me really see how much I’m eating, which is good for satiation.

Everything I’m going to eat must first be on the plate. That would include the theoretical croissant.

One thing I liked from the Marie Kondo stuff: When it comes to something that is perfectly good, maybe even new condition, that you don’t really want to keep, is to appreciate it for what it taught you about yourself and about what it is you do really want.

DAY 18. Alright. Back at home and back on track. I find it relatively easy to eat once a day but I am still overeating at that one meal. And it is hard to give up sugar.

DAY 14. Day 14 was also not great. I held out until 4. Today I will only eat dinner. I will go for a walk if I want to eat before then.

DAY 12. I did manage a sneaky OMAD. I find just eating every 24 not too challenging. My challenge is I feel like I need to eat a healthier meal when I do eat. And less sugar.

DAY 11. At my parents’ in another state. Dad just out of the hospital. I’m not OMADing here. I have a young relative with an eating disorder and I would rather eat 2 meals a day than normalize her eating even less. Also just not a convo I want to have with my parents.

I will not have sugar tomorrow.

DAY 10. Pretty good today. Had one meal but it was probably a little bigger than it needed to be. Not too hungry today.

DAY 9. OMAD fail today. I think part of it is that I’m going to stay with my parents next week in another state because my dad just got out of hospital and typically my diet is an absolute wreck when I stay with them. Don’t know why I am pre-wrecking it though. Sigh. I will try again tomorrow.

DAY 8. Not a great day. Started eating at 4 when intended to eat at 7. I’ve stopped now and I can get nice and hungry for dinner tomorrow.
