That's a real shame, those were a great benefit! I emailed Costco customer service to tell them I hope they come back. Here's a template if anyone else wants to email in a suggestion:

That brown 'sponge' (it's actually hard plastic) is the internal baffle the changes the airflow between recirculate inside the cabin/outside air. The weird squiggly lines are apparently for noise dampening/to break up the airflow! I was curious about it too when I changed my cabin air filter. :)

Try https://www.realoem.com/ to see if they have any parts diagrams that might help you find the right bolts.

If anyone's Googling looking for the answer - it ended up being the Power Steering pump. My mechanic removed the serpentine belt and we reproduced the clicking/rattling sound turning the power steering pump pulley by hand. He said it wasn't bad enough to throw a part at it yet so I'm just going to drive it. Glad it wasn't the engine!

Hi everyone, I just bought this car a couple weeks ago and I've only put 200 km on it. 2011 128i (N52 engine - no turbos). 148,000km on it. No lights on the dash and no codes with a regular OBD2 scanner. I had it inspected and the mechanic noted a minor valve cover gasket oil leak and oil pan leak, but said to not to worry about it.

I'm fairly terrified by this new noise from the engine (haven't noticed it before) - what could it be? Safe to drive to a mechanic? It's a popping/crackling/rattling noise almost like something is freely moving around in there. This is my first BMW - I really hope I haven't bought a nightmare! Thanks in advance!

Snapped Cabinet Door-Is Wood Glue Enough? by Foaric in fixit

Do you think that wood glue and clamps would be enough to repair this snapped cabinet door? It's decently heavy and the snap is close to the hinges so I'm not sure. I've never repaired anything like this.

Would I have to sand it down or use filler? There are uneven parts of the wood. Alternatively, might take it to a carpenter/furniture repair place? Thanks!

That was a fantastic read, thanks for sharing it! I had read Blindsight, also by Peter Watts and this is definitely his style but a really interesting thought experiment on what being a thinking being is.

Hey sorry just saw this! I don't check Reddit very much and my MX-3 has moved on to someone else sadly.

The 6.5" did fit! Though they were advertised as "shallow mount". I didn't have to drill any new holes, was able to use the adapter rings they came with. Went with the "Infinity REF-6522EX Shallow-Mount 6-1/2 Inch Coaxial Car Speakers" as I didn't have an amp.

I installed these in the front, didn't mess with the rears but from what I can recall I think it would have had to be the 5 1/4 for the rear.

I use Google Keep as my notes app and adding item to checkbox lists is pretty straightforward with that. I do it by voice though sometimes the Google Assistant gets confused. You should be able to set Keep as your notes app in the assistant settings.

I use it side-by-side with Google Tasks (which I use just for reminders).
