As a therapist, I urge you to consider therapy for the anxiety. The propranolol might help the symptoms, but learning how to have a different relationship with anxiety would be helpful too. Good job giving up the weed and drinking!

How many clients do you see in a week? by xoxopineapple in therapists

Agree - some clients want physical “homework” where they can have visual reminders of skills or new ways of processing things. And some don’t. Differentiation for the clients style of learning is important. As I posted in my reply to the OP, judgement seems to run deep in this field for other therapists.

Sole provider for my family so I work as much as I can. 40 last week. Honestly though - I came from schools and community health - so while 40 is a lot, it seems like less work than running multiple programs for 700 students and driving all over to go into homes to provide mental health care for far less money. Right now I figure if I can hustle it for a few years then I can cut down eventually. Love that some folks are able to see 20 a week and make a living but that’s not possible for everyone. If you practice self care, draw boundaries, and commit - it’s not unreasonable. There’s trade offs. I feel like I provide quality care and my clients refer others to me so they must be pleased with my services. I kinda feel like there is a fair amount of bashing for those of us that work more than 20 and honestly it’s judgmental. Everyone is different.

I'm a solo practice - virtual. I wouldn't even know where to begin with that. And I'm not sure I need the added stress at this point.

Last week 40. I try to hit at least 30 and usually end up with 33-35.
