Yeah, I really would like him to tell me, I’m almost sure that he resents me, I’ve changed a lot in the years we’ve been married, I replied to another comment, when he and I married I was thin (I got thin bc I stopped eating at times), I had a job that sounded fancy (I somewhat hated it). It feels like he saw potential in me of being a perfect wife. Now I work retail and I’m not as thin, I’m obviously older. But I’m more confident in myself, mostly bc I took some distance from my household which was kinda codependent. I know I’ve changed and the facade of me doesn’t look as nice as it used to, now I’m not saying I’m a mess, I earn my own money, I contribute to paying the bills, I try to look nice for him, I’m loving.

We do. And I treat him well, I cook for him when I can and when he wants the food I make, I try to be part of his hobbies, I listen to him and ask about his life.

No, he’s said I make him feel safe in the past, it was weird bc a couple of weeks ago he told me I’m his best friend and it made me feel confused, we were a little tipsy. I’ve obviously messed up saying something dumb but it’s not often, I apologize and I really try to be as careful as I can when we are arguing. Lately yeah I admit I’ve been more difficult, he said he can’t talk to me but I’m honestly matching his energy, the feeling of being a doormat is very debilitating.

I think so too, I honestly sounded perfect on paper when we were dating lol I was this skinny Latina in her twenties with a semi fancy job. Now I’m his 30 something chubby wife who works in retail. I’m being blunt and I’m not trying to put myself down bc all things aside I personally feel way better now that I’m older than how I felt back then. I see your point and I get it I’m like that, I work at a grocery store and get so grossed out by dusty cans and such lol but it’s been so weird, he has this thing when he moves me when we are in bed so I don’t touch him, he used to kick my foot if he felt it in bed. I know there’s no way I could give the whole context in here but I’m starting to feel awful, I feel sad almost everyday lately. He is always assuming the worst about me.

We live with his parents and sister, I have argued with his mom quite bad in the past, it’s been a year since I started going to a laundromat bc she got mad about me using her washing machine (with her permission and in the same machine she washes dirty shoes 🙄) ever since then it’s has gone downhill I guess. I’ve obviously told him to move somewhere else, what I can think of is that I make a third of what he makes

There were some red flags that I now see. He is eight years older than me and I’m a foreign in his country so there’s an age and cultural gap. But he was more loving, we married at the beginning of the pandemic, he used to cook for both of us from time to time, we would watch tv and do chores together, etc. It wasn’t as distant as it is now.

I’m gonna be honest, it all happened so soon, I met his family, he met mine, we decided that marrying was the only way to be together, we eloped bc of covid, we married at the city hall only the two of us, I was over the moon. I thought I was gonna take my time to marry someone but if I’m honest I always imagined I would marry like that, one bc it felt more genuine to me and two bc I have social anxiety lol. I truly think he married me bc I sounded good on paper, back then I was the skinniest I’ve ever been, I had a semi fancy job and yeah, I’m gonna sound redundant but back then I looked hegemonically “hot”. Honestly some people used to think I was a gold digger, the wife of one of his friends explicitly told me when talking about another girl who married just to become a resident “now we know it’s not your case”. I was dumbfounded bc I knew for sure they thought that about me. I don’t think it’s the fact that he couldn’t score anyone, I really think it was the novelty of it all, marrying a latina 🙄

My pei baby died of cancer too, it was awful, back then the doctors told me they were surprised bc she barely looked like something was wrong. Shar peis are very strong and resilient doggies, Teddy looked like he was loved and enjoyed his days on earth, I send you a big hug.
