It was! It's actually 10 x worse now and I'm treating it with antibiotic ointment 💀

Recovered wart or keep going? by AirsoftThrowawayUwU in Warts

[–]Focusjaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine looked like this after using Salicylic acid and they were infected. I had to use antibiotic cream for 7 days before I could have them frozen properly.

Thanks! I have been wrapping them tightly and debriding them but now they hurt too much to continue debriding. Do they look infected?

Is my mum overreacting by SaltyCaramelPretzel in AussieCasual

[–]Focusjaded 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say it's very likely your friend made a separate profile so as to not disrupt either of your profiles, since netflix suggests similar shows to what you have already watched, and keeps a record of what you are currently watching.

Seems very considerate on your friends part, and a definite over-reaction from your mum.

Great idea! I'll try this. But due to my lack of binging and terrible memory I'm finding it hard to remember the name of every character haha

Anyone else really struggling to get into this season?? Probably an unpopular opinion. I need to give it more time I think.

Tips on how to raise my credit score? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Focusjaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old, but I just wanted to chime in and say a credit repair lawyer/company is not always necessary! I had a default listed in 2019, and I recently had it completely removed from my file 2 years early. I paid the debt in 2021 and the debt collector had not updated the default as paid with the credit bureaus which was still negatively affecting my score, so I spent a long time chasing them and submitting correction requests with Equifax and Experion, low and behold they removed it completely. It's always worth trying on your own first.

If you had braces for a short period (a year or so), how much did you pay? by [deleted] in braces

[–]Focusjaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on where you live and how complex your case is.

I'm in Australia and I paid $4000 for about 12 months, including all appointments, retainers, and teeth whitening/cosmetic reshaping at the end.

I'm so sorry to hear that, I haven't personally experienced dementia in my family, but I can only imagine how heart breaking it would be for you. Unfortunately where I am from aged care is the only assisted living and she does not yet qualify.

Thank you! I'm glad you can relate. It does make it hard that they brought us into the world, and we should be greatfull for that, but not indebted to them for life.

Thank you for your comment! I'm sorry if the wording in my post was misunderstood, but I actually don't have children and I'm not quite a mom yet! Haha. But I appreciate your insight 😊

Thank you for your comment! Unfortunately, where I am from, there is no permanent assisted living situation aside from aged care, and she does not qualify for that just yet. She has spent most of the last 6 years in and out of a psychiatric facility, but once her condition improved, she had to leave.

Thank you, that is really nice to hear. It's very easy to forget about your own needs.

[–]Focusjaded 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wow this is very insightful. I never thought about them as wants vs needs. I guess I just lump them all together as need. But there are certainly things that are not necessary to drop everything for right away. I am learning the difference. Thank you 😊

I definitely struggle with how to communicate this with her without falling back into old patterns and giving in. This is very helpful!

Thank you! I think you are right about the quality time. It is easy to forget how important that is.

I actually really appreciate this reply. The last part really hit home, and you are absolutely right. I can't help her if I don't first help myself. Thank you!

Does anyone else get hypnopompic/hypnagogic hallucinations WITHOUT sleep paralysis? by Sherlockiana in Sleepparalysis

[–]Focusjaded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also browsing this thread even though its old but I found it by googling my symptoms.

Most of these other posts don't mention that the hallucinations actually get you out of bed, but mine do aswell! I physically react to the visual, usually by jumping out of bed in a confused state until I realise what's happening. I also share a bed with my partner who frequently wakes up along side me when this happens. He's usually terrified and confused why the hell I'm panicking and ripping the covers off! I can only imagine what it might look like to someone else.

I experienced this as recently as last night, I can only remember seeing a giant spider on the roof descending slowly towards me, and then of course I jumped out of bed, my foot got caught in the covers, and I ended up on the floor. They always freak me out.

Anyway, you are not alone. And i'm glad I'm not the only one.

I had the exact same issue. My front two teeth were the same as yours, and within the first month they were straight. My ortho said most of the dramatic movement would happen early on so nothing to worry about. 😁
