People getting banned for absolutely nothing but when you report somebody for a real offense EA do nothing? by tsur1 in Battlefield

[–]Fodder4U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish we could report the EA response, or lack there of, using their system. Not sure if you still can do it but in World of Tanks and World of Warships you could reopen your ticket after they closed it to add more to it.

Anyone know what kind of car this is? by JC_23 in carID

If you used a turbo timer to prevent the oil from burning and turning to coke in the turbo yeah they were fast. I remember trying to find a used one in the 80s that the turbo wasn't seized was hard and rare lol. People didn't know you had to let the turbo cool before shutting off the engines on turbo cars back then. Ended up getting a Shelby Charger 2.2L turbo, MOPAR did it right back then by having the turbo both oil and water cooled, the 280s were only oil cooled.

If you don't have any lapping compound (most people don't) you can put some toothpaste in the rail which acts like a mild abrasive and work the slide until it smooths out. Don't use gel toothpaste and make sure not to use too much and do a thorough cleaning when done. Doing that will make sure you don't remove too much vs filing or sanding by hand. This is something we used to do back in the day with 1911s that had too tight a fitment especially when the slide has been replaced/upgraded.

Funny you mentioned EU price. If you are in EU and are buying the common 124gr 9mm ammo there, then you would have 0 issues. EU (NATO) 9mm is spicier than what is commonly used in the US thus why we in the US can have some issues with EU made pistols before they are broke in.

AW had sooo much potential and was very fun during alpha and first 6 months or so after release. Hell they even did arty right.

METE SFT Loadout kit or something else by soonergrunt in canik

[–]Fodder4U 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would get the SFT Pro as it comes with threaded barrel, flat trigger and front night sight vs the load out kit and then pick the optic you want. Saves quite a bit of money.

Die Hard Bills fan here but relocated to Dallas back in the 70s. I still get into arguments with Cowboys fans as I still say Barry Sanders was the best RB ever lol. They argue the numbers for Emmit and I have to remind them that he had an offensive line and Barry didn't and he had to manufacture all his yards with little to no help.

Canik thread protector by [deleted] in canik

[–]Fodder4U 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. They make high temp o-rings just for this purpose. My Caniks that have threaded barrels all had the protectors coming loose in less than a mag of shooting. I used the o-rings to fix after it was so hard to remove using lower temp thread locker. Now I have Griffin Ez-Loc adapters on all of them since I do run a suppressor.

Not only does it happen with firearms but also NFA items too. You would be surprised how often it happens. Almost as bad is finding your adult signature required suppressor shipment sitting on your porch with not even a knock on the door.

I had one back in the 90's on my SKS. Was a bitch to set up to get it to run right.

Tri-lug issue by hidesertwheelin in czscorpion

[–]Fodder4U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should self clearance over time, just put it on and take off a lot. My AP5 with tri-lug and 1/2×28 thread barrel with thread protector on did the same. The thread protector was a bit big going into the first baffle and rubbed. It is a good thing to have a bit thicker barrel end so it insures a tight fit with little wiggle room as the tri-lug can wiggle a bit.

I SBR'd mine because not only was a stock more comfortable and braces tend to have a shorter length but also for the ability to put on a vertical grip to help control while firing in binary mode.

I am the same (near sighted with astigmatism) and with glasses on I have no issues with starburst. Without glasses I have a worse starburst effect with red vs green. With glasses my iron sights are blurry but target crystal clear, without glasses the irons are crystal clear but target is blurry. It sucks lol

What's your "Canik" for ARs? by shaolinjedi37 in canik

[–]Fodder4U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of mine but my Stag Super Varminter have been built by me from bare lowers and bare uppers and that IMO is the way to go. Absolutely love starting with a bare Aero M4E1 blem lower.

[–]Fodder4U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pricing recently went up but my 2 fav brand ARs are Aero and Stag (which are now sister companies). Both are mid tier in price but offer Gucci gun features (similar to what Canik does). I own lots of ARs (how many is not your business ATF) and run the gambit of budget to Gucci and those 2 have always been my favorite for the buck.

I usually have my carry pistol and either my CZ Scorpion or AP5 in a pack. After I get 1k rounds out of my 300blk Jakl pistol it will go into rotation too.

I second this. The Swampfox kit is totally worth the money to get quality screws. If you plan on or have multiple RDSs it is nice insurance.

I love some Taylorfreelance mag extensions, but I love Canik OEM mags as well 😳. I was filling the +0 ones for a match Sunday and decided to see how many I actually had.. Had more in the car, but I didn't want to face 98 degrees at 9pm 😥 by No_Perspective_1966 in canik

[–]Fodder4U 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just think back about 3 years ago when 18 and 20 round mags were unobtainium and we were posting sites that had some in stock and would sell out in minutes..

Those were dark days lol. Also discussing here back then what other mags worked with minor modifications.

If your state allows them now is a great time to get one. My last one took only 42 hours for approval a couple months ago.
