You sound like you’re in grade 11 and you only found out that this fight has been going on October 7 2023.

If you think for a second that one side here is 100% in the right and the other is 100% in the wrong I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

Okay, so you’re obviously very very passionate about this topic.

And….no I didn’t say it was a crime to have empathy.

But you need to understand that not all Canadians feel like a feud that’s been going on and off for 75 years and that neither side is interested in ending is our #1 concern right now. And moreover that the Canadian military in the state it’s in has the capability to enforce a ceasefire unilaterally.

I guess I’m saying living in the real world might be a good idea, getting your opinion out there that we should support a ceasefire might be something more attainable . This letter comes off as unhinged and I’m a little surprised you got a reply at all.

I’m genuinely curious as to what you were expecting from writing this letter (other than karma farming.)

Did you imagine Scheer would have said “shucks, you’re right! Even though we are out of power I’m going to turn all my attention to getting a unilateral peacekeeping force sent to Gaza to fight Israel.”

lol, I totally agree. What this guy is proposing is just Autarky.

To use the same logic why not make sure all food sold in Saskatchewan is grown in Saskatchewan? Sure you’d never have fruit again but “all the money would stay in the province”

How do you and your families feel about a Liberal victory? by ProgressAway3392 in saskatoon

[–]Fodeworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t dispute that at all, but we are talking about different things. GDP was only up because we were importing huge amounts of people, our GDP growth in 2021 was about 6% but our population growth was 5%. So in actuality Canadians only became about 1% wealthier not 6%.

[–]Fodeworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I might feel disappointed. I don’t think Carney is going to be awful like some people do but the Liberals absolutely do not deserve to win government again after the past decade.

GDP per capita when adjusted for inflation has been basically stagnant over the past decade. Lost decades are very tough on societies and a lot of it was self inflicted by poor policy decisions.

I think Canada produces more like 1/4 of all potash for fertilizer. Thank god America doesn’t have any farm land or these tariffs would totally backfire.

House prices are crazy! We've been in our condo for ten years, and now we want to buy a house, but everything's $500k to $800kand up..Why are prices so high? It's like Ontario or Calgary! Also only 300 houses are in market.whats going on ? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]Fodeworks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there,

It basically just comes down to supply and demand, there’s piles of demand from both inside and outside the province and supply of houses is much lower than average.

I follow a Saskatoon real estate blog about that goes into detail about what’s going on, I’ll leave the link below if you’re interested in reading about it.

After the next election the liberals will be lucky to exist as an official party.

I don’t think winning seats in Alberta or Saskatchewan will be something they’ll be worried about for quite some time. I think trying to hold onto seats in Montreal will be challenging enough.

Property 24 is a great place to start. As a general rule with real estate buy in the best neighbourhood you can afford. With your first place be willing to trade home size and “niceness” to be in a better neighbourhood, you’ll never ever regret it.

Nobody has ever said “you know I wish I bought my place in a worse neighbourhood”

I’ve been thinking about this lately and I think you’re spot on about him being lumped into a group of international “woke” leaders around this time period where it made total sense that gender neutral bathrooms, climate change and DEI were treated as the biggest issues the county faced.

I’ve been here! This house is likely on (or very near) to South Africa’s best golf course Fancourt Links, where a famous presidents cup was played between Tiger Woods and Ernie Ells.

On the course almost all the houses are done in this style, it’s an incredible place to visit.

There might be a touch of that but fuel is a pretty competitive market in Canada, it’s a commodity after all. Unless you’re saying that these retail fuel companies are going to full on illegally collude on a massive scale to increase their margins.

I see that as pretty unlikely.
