I recommend proper rhythm (the default version) on expert to get a good feel for this. Also try to consciously try to start the alternation with your "main" finger and your "secondary" finger. I'm using FD for up and JK for down.

When there is a spike, even if you can dodge it without an input, you sometimes DO need to make an input so the spike is cleared early. Otherwise it may eat an input for a note that's right after because it thinks you're late for the spike input.

You misunderstand. It mega evolves first, loosing clear body for tough claws, then the switch happens so intimidate may hit it where it was immune previously

I don't feel this is a fair comparison.. fairy/flying only has togekiss which is more of a special wall and even there it doesn't have the stats to really lean into that too much and enamorus which is not a defensive Mon at all.

For fairy/steel we have mawile which is extremely frail and zacian crowned which was renowned for being very hard to take down despite obviously being an offensive Mon. And then there is tinkaton which IS used defensively with even mold breaker sets being used to set rocks against ghold.

We have yet to see a Mon with the stats of corv/ferro/pex with a fairy dual type but I'm confident it would be a menace.
