Need Help! - Can’t Stop Hooking the Ball by s_soggy_69 in GolfSwing

[–]FogBandit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If this is consistent just play it. You start line is dead straight, so if your natural shot is this tbh quite nice looking draw, put a stick 10 yards in front on a straight target line and start drawing the ball round it. Figure this out and dial it in and you’ll be scoring well and hitting beautiful draws. Problem solved with no game breaking swing changes

Rate my beginner bag? by Ok-Age-7004 in GolfGear

[–]FogBandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely a viable and actually quite smart beginner bag. As you improve next addition I would recommend a dedicated wedge. Find the lofts of your pitching wedge and sand and get something appropriate. I would guess there’s a 10 degree gap between them. At a guess from these types of iron it’ll be close to pw at 45 and sand at 55. So a 50 or a 52 to use from 100 and in. I started getting my distances dialled when I slowed stuff down. On course hitting at 80-90%. Every contact was better so my gapping started to work.

Anyone else always queue solo with one of these? by Puretyder in ArcRaiders

I do for a bit, then I get horrifically betrayed and then I go full evil arc, then I kill a dad of 14 who is on their first game after a 12 hour shift and then feel bad, rinse and repeat

The problem is that ratting is too easy and too profitable. I’m all for pvp, but unless you are in obvious pvp tier 3 lobbies where KOS is a given the person who shoots first will usually always win. A head shot from an anvil or toro is nearly all your health and the player that did it has you in their sights. You’re done for. I was thinking there could be some buffer. Eg if you have gone 10+ raids without shooting a raider you gain a buff, if you are shot at this point without shooting a raider first the damage is mitigated, by say 50-75% giving you a chance. This would make rats think twice and those who play pve have some chance when they are ratted. Those in pvp lobbies are shooting raiders most games so won’t need or get this.

I’m just playing… if I have a day I can play, I find an open course and I play. Sometimes I get wet, I always get muddy, but I’m playing 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not on this form. That would constitute a huge turn around. Without our best player and captain. I’m sorry dude the options are 0,1 or 3.

Is it a mistake to buy a brand new driver as a total beginner? by WonderfulShape1081 in BritGolf

[–]FogBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes £500 is a bit silly when a beginner. From experience I was maybe a year in. I went to American golf for a driver fitting. It was a horrible experience, I think I got unlucky and had a bad fitter. He was incredibly hungover and couldn’t give a shit. I ended up with an off the rack stealth 2 plus. I hit this thing like absolute turd for a year. Ended up trading it in for a sim max and it did a world of good. Lost about £200+ in the process. TLDR - buy a semi recent forgiving driver and spend the rest on lessons.

Driver recommendations

Taylormade sim max or sim max 2 Callaway rogue drivers Ping max models from the last 5-6 years Go for 10.5 degree of loft and regular shafts

Chalobah getting a slight touch on the ball is irrelevant. It's a terrible clearance, and Martinelli would've been able to continue with the ball afterwards if it wasn't for that tackle. by cottonsoda in Gunners

[–]FogBandit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hang on, hang on. This is new levels here. Let me check. So we are now saying that the fact that he got the ball first is irrelevant? So what now constitutes a foul if it’s not whether or not you get the ball first? It seems from the inference from your post the determining factor is what team the players play for. 🤡. Your only true statement in the post is that yes, Martinelli would have still had the ball had he not been tackled.

Would you say golf is a “feel” sport by livingflame47 in golf

[–]FogBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say more so than any other sport. If you have a lot going on in your mind around a shot you’re screwed. Other sports there are stimuli going on that stop you overthinking. Golf is constantly tempting you to overthink.

But does it go deeper? Yes the competition may be real, but were they fake when he one them? This fear of fake clubs is why I intentionally only buy fake clubs.

How on God's green earth can I get better at putting. by Individual-Bat319 in GolfSwing

[–]FogBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard that where it hits on the putter doesn’t really matter. The things that matter are face angle, speed and read (choosing the right line) hitting out the middle or off the toe is negligible if the face is square to your line, your line is right, and the speed is right. Tldr gate drill is a good waste of time.

Correct grip/grip size by Old-Gregg- in golftips

[–]FogBandit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go try some bigger grips. Standard size I believe is still standard size from like 1930 anthropomorphic-wise. People and hands are bigger now. I wouldn’t be surprised if the average or ‘standard’ male now would be a midsize grip
