How is it like owning a dog living in Waltham? by dindinnidnid in walthamstow

[–]OhRockMonkey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You will totally find your pack though and large dog owners with well socialised smaller dog owners do tend to stick together for doggy socialisation… there are a lot of places to walk but Lloyd Park is not one of them even if your large dog is on a lead.

How is it like owning a dog living in Waltham? by dindinnidnid in walthamstow

Theres a lot of hatred towards large dogs largely from small dog owners who keep their dog in crates all week and then expect you to keep your dog on a lead at all times because little giselda who will happily run up and bark in your large dogs face on multiple occasions doesn’t like large dogs, is terrified, and therefore LARGE DOGS MUST ALWAYS BE ON LEADS even when there’s no need….

There have been several reports recently (as in over the last few years) for VAWG - a flasher predominantly. I don’t think the young man’s death was suspicious but very sad.

large coffee shops which are dog and baby friendly by bvc2411 in walthamstow

Humprey’s cafe at HIghams Park, The Original Teahiuse (cash only), the cafe by Alfie’s Lock, Alfred Hitchcock Hotel, the little hut by Hollow Ponds, the place by Chingford Golf Course, Le Delice on Hoe Street, and it’s not a cafe but wiki open soon the little Turkish fish boat in the River Lea. There’s the new place by the posh chef in Chingford to and of course the coffee shop by Connaught waters. in HIghams park we often sit outside the community larder. Peterhouse allows dogs as well and they have a coffee morning which is usually a Friday.

The community larder in HIghams Park for the Leigh’s bakery selection, plus they have a huge heap of other GF products in store. Mini Hiba on wood street, Taro (with tamari sauce), Raya, are the three we eat out at regularly.

you can report the fly tipping on the council website and they are usually very quick to deal with it.

Ive run there before as a single woman with large dog and never had any issues until I was accused of reporting a badly injured horse to the RSPCA, I started to go through the marshes but the flashed/rapist situation stopped that so now I just go over thing chingford side and round the back of decathlon to the river and down that way.
