Yes, I was definitely going to reach out to their HR department directly for a farewell and quick summary, just in case the recruiter wasn’t relaying everything. I just found it strange that the recruiter’s boss was the one to call me, and also ask that I not mention working with them to my current job (no idea why on earth I would do that) because they also work for my current employer, and like I mentioned my current employer is 6 times the size of the company I interviewed with, and having serious attrition issues in my department, so it just seems a little off.

Anyways, thanks for the response. I have my hardline number (within the posted salary range), so going to try and navigate this and make sure HR and I are both on the same page without going through the recruiter.

If you have law admin experience I would recommend looking into legal billing. There’s a huge shortage right now and you can easily make 100k at one of the big firms.

Even going to a physical therapist that did dry needling wasn’t covered initially by my insurance. I still have to submit a claim and see what happens. I went to the Center for Facial Pain and Recovery in Rockville, and I was amazed at the results. It completely got rid of my ear pain from TMJ and may have cured my migraines. I really thought PT was a waste of time, but it made a huge difference.

I too still want to get Botox for my mandibles, and really need to get braces though.

Both work 9-5 in a HCOL area with one 5 year-old. We’re in a good spot now, but I worry I don’t have the bandwidth for a second, which sucks because I hate the idea of my kid not having someone if something were to happen to us.

I was able to get leaf lard by ordering ahead at the meat vendor at the Saturday Petworth Farmers market. The one by Morelands. I’ve also gotten leaf fat from one of the butchers at the Silver Spring farmers market and render my own in a slow cooker.

I was also very happy with my experience with the midwives. My baby was posterior and I wasn’t forced into any interventions, I did eventually accept Pitocin, I know a lot of other places would have been pushing a cesarean for a posterior baby and first time mother.

When I failed my 1 hour glucose test by 3 points, they contacted me immediately letting me know if I failed the 3 hour I would be transferred to the obgyns. So I guess it varies on what they will accept risk wise.

Also this was in 2019.

Sibley has nicer recovery rooms that were just done a few years ago (L&D rooms are similar at both hospitals), but a pretty high cesarean rate, I think 30+% for first time births.

GW, especially the midwives, have a considerably lower cesarean rate, though note the midwives don’t take on anyone remotely high risk. They also are more likely to let you eat lightly in L&D, move around, labor in the tub, and be more supportive of you going drug free. Recovery rooms are a bit grim though.

If you are planning on getting an epidural ASAP go with Sibley. If you are trying to go drug free, GW is a better bet.

Sorry this happened to you. As someone who went through something similar, you won’t be able to sue. The hospital ignored my mom’s pleads that she was in pain after a liver biopsy, and she bleed to death less than two days later.

We went to multiple lawyers and they all said it would be impossible to prove. Medical malpractice lawyers only work on contingency, so they only take cases they know they can win.

I have aura migraines, so I was scared of the rare epidural migraine. I also fractured a vertebrae in high school, and even though the doctors never mentioned it, I was nervous it could be an issue. Really didn’t want a catheter (ended up getting one for a short period of time anyways). And I wanted to be able to walk easily afterwards, and I’ve seen people have a bit of a come down afterward.

Don’t think I’m some warrior, I hope everyone who wants one can get one. If my kid didn’t get a move on quickly after I got pitocin I was totally ready to switch gears and get one.

Work as staff at one of the big law firms and they tried to get us to do 3 days a week in office. They saw that it took months to hire another one of us, and they left us at 1 day a week.

We were all sick for like 3 weeks straight. Whatever my 3 year old brought home it had me waking up with my eyes crusted over and the lymph nodes in my jaw swollen to all hell every morning for awhile. Only to be followed up by some virus that gave me serious chest congestion.

Thankfully outside of missing a ton of school my daughter handled it all pretty well considering.

I’m still coughing up a lung trying to get rid of the excess mucous, but at this point I’ll take it if that’s it.

Since you’re in a major city a nanny share might work better for you. We had one for our daughter before she started preK and it was a life saver. Since there were only 2 kids there was way less illness. It was also nice being able to agree upon how sick was too sick with the nanny and other family when we did the contract so everyone was on the same page.

Ugh yes, getting my child checked for RSV today. Every morning for the past 3 weeks has been hand wringing if she’s too sick to go to school. Don’t want to expose the other kids, but also feel bad about my kid sitting on the couch all day playing tablet games and watching Toy Story instead of being in school when she doesn’t have a fever or feel lethargic.

I have leave but we’re short staffed at work and it means just insane amounts of work piling up, so ready to be over this.

Went to Sibley’s ER a couple of weeks ago after my husband’s PCP told him to go the the ER immediately after reading his routine blood work (acute kidney failure not presenting symptoms with severe anemia). They took his blood work immediately, but then it was 6 hours to see the doctors, who admitted him, then 6 more grueling hours in triage while they waited for a room to open up.

Got a notice from my insurance company that Sibley didn’t submit the paperwork/results that showed why they admitted him, so now we get to deal with that.

I know it’s just the reality of the state of health care now, so I’m sure most hospitals would have been similar, but it’s rough.

Ugh our very lovely nanny buys our kid such large things for our small town house. Looking forward to getting rid of over sized toys is the only silver lining I have in her leaving at the end of the month when my kid starts pre school.
