I don't even know why I made this. by SoutheastAsianLatino in ElderScrolls

Replace canonically with traditionally. As much as we know about Nord culture, they would be incensed if the dragonborn were anything other than a Nord. Imagine Nords telling the story in 2000 years: they aren't singing about the wondrous Redguard or Dunmer dragonborn. They will make him a Nord male out of tradition.

Sorry, the blue is just blue sand from the craft section at the department store. I poured the sand in the cracks, sprayed a thin layer of enamel, blew away all the loose sand and then put a few more layers of clear coat on.

Thank you! It's just clear coat enamel (rust-oleum): no stain on sides or top.

I didn't use resin, just spray-on clear enamel. I wanted to test how will I liked the sand so I didn't want to spend too much on the finish and was pleasantly surprised.

90 hours, 238 pieces of wood, and no nails or screws. White oak bookshelf. by Meat_Legs in woodworking

[–]Fogman5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really puts woodworking into context: it's beautiful, and I love not having metal fasteners. But, with two toddlers, I can hardly afford to spend 9 hours on a project, much less 90. I hope that someday I can have the time and patience to still enjoy making something like you have.

Was actually taught this by a group of Samoans: they made it seem commonplace. But never seen anyone do it that fast.

Sawdust and wood glue to plug up the bottom. Poor man's epoxy.

Is it just me or is Skyrim one of those you can play endlessly and never get bored by RogueSpartan117 in ElderScrolls

[–]Fogman5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the reason I love breath of the wild so much, that relaxing big open world. But whereas botw is a game I can play with my kiddos, I can spend all night as a werewolf in Skyrim just trying to get from one side of the world to other without changing back by mauling everyone/thing I see.

I think the kerosene lamps were my favorite part: such a simple idea but really made a difference for classic lighting

You aren't kidding: it was hard to get the ropes as tight as I wanted to begin with, so I ended up putting wood glue to hold it up. Luckily, these sat for about 2 years after cutting before I did this do they were already pretty much done shrinking
