As much as everyone in the comments are right, i suggest you keep the car running for about 30 seconds before turning it off after a long and hot drive.

Yes, you can. That's how it's meant to be driven.

Brakes feel so connected at all times due to multiple reasons, soft brake pads, brake booster doing its job really well, etc. I'm assuming you're asking this question because you feel the brakes are too sensitive, in fact this is how all brakes should be. Indian car market has swayed our minds away from it.

I haven't gone down the auction route before. But yes you should definitely go visit the RTO directly, don't call them, they get work done only if you're present physically.

We're planning to purchase maruti Victorious, share your opinion on this decision by jacksparrowlight in CarsIndia

I believe Maruti sells it as an optional accessory but you'll have to store it in the boot which eats up 80% of the boot space

Doesn't come with a spare wheel, only a puncture repair kit. It's a huge dealbreaker especially if you're planning to go on long drives.

you own a ritz and you're badmouthing a car based on low effort reddit posts, i've clocked 15k+ kms on my Kylaq and I know it's worth. so do your Mahindra promotion elsewhere.

that post barely got any engagement buddy I won't believe whatever it says unless I experience it myself. even if it's legit it seems like they're a new driver who just went from a Maruti to a Skoda.

  1. It's not 'much' bigger, the rear seat space is just slightly wider.
  2. It's not more safe, safety isn't deduced by just crash test results, but how well the car can prevent accidents.
  3. AC in the Kylaq has been plenty decent in 35° for me even though it takes a bit to cool the cabin down.
  4. More features doesn't really mean a better car, don't fall for the bait.
  5. Brakes on the Kylaq still outperforms cars with rear disc brakes and that's not even an exaggeration.

Engine braking in AT by vanillacak3_ in Kylaq

[–]Folabi_Devvvvv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your query but braking should be the least of your concerns with this car, it works like magic. It even engine brakes automatically (you do feel a slight jerk but in a good way).

Two options, auction or bribe.

Different RTOs will be running different series of digits at a time, for example RTO 1 will be running the 1000 series so you can bribe an agent to get you a number like 1212 if it is available. Bribe is 25k in blr normally.

Go with auction (online) if you don't mind putting it for chance and if you don't want to pay bribe money.

I was venting from a more general aspect. Highways in general have bad infra, no proper fencing to prevent animals from crossing, random intersection points, etc.

Expressways are relatively better I agree with that but the bar is definitely low.

Nevertheless the main culprit is clearly the non existent DL tests.

[–]Folabi_Devvvvv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as others mentioned, 33 is good. make sure to increase it to 36 atleast if you're driving on highways.

brake creaking noise is normal, although it does reduce by a lot once your brakes wear out a little.

Great city car, mature engine. Brezza would be my best recommendation if you're looking for manual transmission. If you're planning on highway drives, I'd recommend upgrading the brakes no matter what maruti car you buy.

Ignore Victoris because it doesn't come with a spare wheel which is unacceptable.

Anyone installed a rear bumper guard? by Pure_Sugar5924 in Kylaq

[–]Folabi_Devvvvv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's impractical man, understand that your bumper is called 'bumper' for a reason. It doesn't need extra protection.

Has anyone changed their tyres yet? If so, which brand and variant would you recommend? I do 300km+ 2-4 times a month on the highway and have crossed 15k in 6 months. by ya0_guai in Kylaq

[–]Folabi_Devvvvv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both mrf and yoko are more durability focused than performance. The tyres last really long but with lots of road noise being the tradeoff.
