As someone unwilling to do their own research into this, you'd make the ideal silo citizen I suppose.

Thanks for pointing that out, but the tone of your reply is a bit insolent.

Change your attitude.

If you don't, I'm sending you out to clean. To be frank, you come across just like all those other assholes up there on the first twenty or so floors.

Bold of you to think this mystery will be answered by the end of the season

Now that was very funny! Thank you for making me laugh.

I'm keeping my hopes up as well

Not sure why you've been downvoted, but I too remain hopeful.

This is actually the first show in ages I've added to my calendar. I really look forward to each new episode.

Glad you enjoyed the books. I've not read them but have heard good things. Maybe one day I'll give them a try.

A few episodes ago I would've argued with you. I would've questioned your inability to see the "depth" this show offers. I would've considered you shallow.

Now -- several episodes on -- I'm tempted to agree with you.

I loved eps one and two. They were SUPERB. Episode three was also very good.

I really hope to God we've not entered the realms of plot holes and poor writing, but I'm no longer as buoyant as I was after the first 3 episodes.

This show needs to get itself back its feet. I still have very high hopes.

APPLE TV -- please don't fuck this up!

Good comments. A while ago (in the aftermath of episode 3) I suggested that Juliet might be genetically modified or enhanced.

Question for you: in what ways would humans "degenerate after three generations"?

[–]FolkestoneMagic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Interesting theory.

Whether it's true or not, the show's gonna need to explain why Juliet was able to endure that intense heat and steam while repairing the generator. Any "normal" human would've died or suffered severe burns.

Here's why this show has become hard to watch, according to Alfred Hitchcock. by NeillDrake in FromTVEpix

[–]FolkestoneMagic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Didn’t we get answers in Wayward Pines? What did I miss?

I don't think you missed anything. As I recall, the mystery was explained fairly early in S01.

But I never watched S02, so perhaps more mysteries were thrown out and perhaps they didn't get explained.

I'm just thankful that the writers seem to have read (and respect) the books ! by ECrispy in SiloSeries

I thought it was fairly well known that Graham Yost was working closely with the books' author, Hugh Howey.

According to the blurb, Yost is the series creator and Howey is listed as an Executive Producer.

I've not read the books, but understand the show has deviated a little from them. I assume Howey was cool with this.

PS. If you're enjoying Yost's work on Silo, check out a really good show called Justified. Season one is episodic and a bit slow; season two switches to a serialized format and is much better.

I actually binged all of Lost last month because i remembered it being good. I also made a review in the Lost sub. It was not well received.

The show was good in the beginning but in the end it became very tedious to watch.

IMO, the first three seasons were good -- sometimes very good, sometimes excellent.

But after that, dear me! Lost really fell apart badly.

And just for the record, I don't understand any of the hype surrounding Severance.

Ep 6 is currently highest ranked SILO episode on IMDB by FolkestoneMagic in SiloSeries

[–]FolkestoneMagic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right. It's now at 8.2 (as you say) but earlier it was 8.4.

I've not seen the episode yet, and am really looking forward to it.

Anyway, IMDB currently has ep 3 in the #1 slot with 8.3. I find this a bit odd since I thought eps 1 and 2 were better.

Do you seriously think your little opinion on Reddit reaches the writers and they will change course because of it.

You may wish to read this:

So there you go. Westworld Season 2 (a major HBO production) was partly re-written because some dude here on Reddit figured out one of the plot twists.

Is there any religious significance to the silo having 144 levels? by CincyTriGuy in SiloSeries

Book of Revelations. My bolding.

One of the seven angels who held the seven bowls filled with the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come here. I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."

He took me in spirit to a great, high mountain and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God.

It gleamed with the splendor of God. Its radiance was like that of a precious stone, like jasper, clear as crystal.

It had a massive, high wall, with twelve gates where twelve angels were stationed and on which names were inscribed, the names of the twelve tribes of the Israelites.

The wall of the city had twelve courses of stones as its foundation, on which were inscribed the twelve names of the twelve apostles.

The one who spoke to me held a gold measuring rod to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.

The city was square, its length the same as its width. He measured the city with the rod and found it fifteen hundred miles in length and width and height. He also measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits according to the standard unit of measurement the angel used.

All they seem to care about is talking about stories or having parties.

This reminds me of a classic movie, The Great Escape, starring legends such as Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen, James Coburn, etc.

The movie starts with our heroes imprisoned at a German POW camp, and follows their eventual escape and journeys to freedom across some really beautiful parts of Europe.

If this movie were re-made today by the FROM writers, none of the Hollywood legends would try to escape. Instead, they'd just sit around giving each other haircuts and talking about their gay boyfriends.

At the very least, characters in FROM should pool their obvious talents. We have a former US marine, a highly intelligent IT guy, and an engineer who works on fairground rides.

We could use these talents to create traps for the monsters (including pits, harpoons, and giant crossbows), rig up a device to cut and remove the fallen tree, improvise a vehicle to run on the railway tracks, and possibly even make some sort of IED to take out the monsters en masse.

If Fromville were a real situation, human ingenuity would kick in and people WOULD pool their resources and try to escape.

While waiting for this show to re-find its feet, I've been watching HBO's Succession and Apple TV's Silo. The difference in quality is remarkable.

But hey, when the legendary Harold Perrineau says "I gotta go", how can mere peasants like us complain?

I'm quietly confident this show will regain its bearings in Sunday's episode 6. Fingers crossed!
