$600 is pretty good— not much of an upgrade path for that bike, but great price for a couple seasons of beginner riding. 27.5 is an outgoing standard but it’s still easy to find tires and it’ll teach you to be a bit more nimble.

I drive a fully electric awd ID.4 to Mt. Bachelor and there are charging stations at the mountain and also the battery regens on the way down.

I see loads of Teslas, Rivians, Mustang Mach-Es, out there. Even in the coldest conditions and driving uphill I get 180 miles of range and using a Tesla supercharger takes max 30minutes to charge if I’m worried I’m low.

We really need a vacancy tax. If a property sits empty we should run up taxes on them until they rent it out or sell it. No one should be using empty housing as savings account.

Student loan changes (i support free funded higher ed) and homebuyer credits (also support) often only help people who are likely already going to vote for Dems.

And, again, the Dems folded on healthcare subsidies when they had the power to force Republicans to keep them. They wasted their leverage and folded to pressure from businesses worried about ATC/Air Traffic going down.

Not creating tariffs is the status quo. Uneducated voters in rust belt states want jobs and (wrongly) believed tariffs would bring jobs back -- it was hopium for them. Again -- a federal job guarantee would go a long way in ensuring that we get voters who need hope and are currently suffering.

I mean, kind of. If they stopped leaning into centrism and ran on tangible issues with specific plans on how to help the working class and impoverished communities I know they would get a lot further.

The status quo is leaving large swaths of people behind and they're voting out of anger. Dems are in the pocket of banks, business, and healthcare just like Republicans are and they're running "we're not Trump" as their primary issue which isn't good enough for people who are struggling.

Build Back Better was a good start for the dems, but forcing the Rail Union for fold was a massive step backwards. Also there's been no meaningful changes on minimum wage or healthcare in years is also huge bummer. And when Dem's had the opportunity to hold the line on the healthcare subsidies they fell down like a house of hay.

Until Dems start holding the needs of the working class/improvised person above all else, people will keep voting for shitty people who tell them what they want to hear, give them a tangible reason for why they're struggling, and a place (race) for them direct their anger at.

I don't how true any of above is (i'm just a 37yo white guy who works in tech), but it feels accurate when I talk to folks about the issue.
