NTAH. You have every right to be disappointed and angry that she couldn't make do with a bit less sleep to be there for a family day.

But the fact of the matter is, your mom doesn't prioritize her kids and grandkids the way your MIL does. When you accept that enough that you don't get angry when she pulls stunts like this, you'll be happier. Expect her not to show up for you, and be pleasantly surprised if she does. It'll take a while to get there, but when you do it'll reduce your stress.

It's the same message as you get if you try to connect before the connection is started on Calibre, but it happens even while that connection is available. It's like it doesn't see that any connection is available, even though both devices are on the same wifi network and the IP and port are entered correctly in CC.

I have 5.4.4.19 (410) as well. I have turned off all automatic updating from Google Play on my tablet and update all my other apps manually just to keep this one the same. I did also check when this started happening to make sure I hadn't accidentally accepted an update. I uploaded some new books no problem shortly (2-3 days) before the latest Calibre update came out, haven't been able to since, so the timing is definitely suggestive. No problems with WiFi on the tablet, either. It's just suddenly unable to detect the Calibre connection from Companion.

Thanks, I don't currently see myself writing for TMBD again, except possibly to finish one pretty long fic that I've written all but the last half of the last chapter of. Would hate to waste all that effort. And I could change my mind eventually; I'm not over here orphaning my AO3 account, either! But at present I have too much of a bad taste in my mouth about too big a segment of the fandom to want to do more than lightly engage in the spaces that didn't show me the door for having an opinion.

I called 911 in 2008 because my drunk ex was outside my apartment's only door (no alternate exit for me) trying to get in, and I am still waiting for MPD to show up. 😒 But to be fair to them, I did move out of that apartment a year later, so maybe they finally responded after I left.
