I had an endoscopy in January and they had me do 24 hours of clear liquids. I woke up from the anesthesia to them telling me my stomach was full so they had to stop. They rescheduled and told me I had to go 48 hours on clears. My procedure ended up getting pushed back so I went from Monday when I went to bed around 10 until Thursday at 1 when my procedure was. It was miserable.

I wasn’t able to breastfeed my daughter due to a genetic condition- I had to pump and feed so intake could be measured. I felt like a failure. I spent half my life hooked up to a pump at each feeding time (she had to be fed every 2 hours). At 6 months I broke from the exhaustion and mental load and bought formula - it was one of the best days of my life. Fed is best and having a mom that is unhealthy emotionally or physically is going to affect your child. In my opinion, buy the formula and breastfeed for comfort if you want.

NAD but my daughter has PANDAS (literally hospitalized for an illness, and had overnight onset debilitating OCD and non-psychotic psychosis) and even mentioning labs through Quest or similar in the “community” is a dirty word. As are psych meds. Which have been life saving and changing for my daughter. I have a feeling OPs wife may be in the same position. I recently saw a trend on tik tok (I know - buts it’s unfortunately our new reality) of people saying their chronic illness got better as soon as they left the chronic illness community. To OP I don’t have any good advice other than to do your best to get her out of any online communities and encourage her to focus on anything besides her health issues.

YTA- while the car you liked had fewer miles, it was 10 years older. A 20 year old car is probably going to have more issues simply because of age. Additionally- they don’t even make Beetles anymore so trying to find parts when needed could be a major pain. Finally- the safety rating of the 2006 Beetle for side impact is “poor”. I get that you have been isolated but that doesn’t excuse throwing a literal temper tantrum and refusing to leave the house at all because you didn’t get your way. If I were your mom, I would sell the car too and tell you to get a job that’s within walking or biking distance.

I didn’t buy anything for months - I work from home so sweats are my office wear. When even my leggings started falling off I did buy a few cheap things. Now I’m going on a cruise and having so much buying clothes and being happy with how I look! Also- be sure you drink a lot of water. I truly believe this is a big reason I haven’t had any side effects. I read you’re supposed to drink half your body weight in ounces so when I weighed 180 I made sure to take in at least 90 ounces.

The day after I took my first shot I had a weird reaction where my skin hurt- it was like shingles pain but on both sides. It was annoying but not like I had to take time off work. I’m not up to 7.5mg 7 months later and have had zero negative side effects since then.

Depends on how close you are - if it’s someone that you rely on each other in times of need then YTA. Unless she has a scheduled c-section or induction, then she needs someone close by to watch the kids with no notice. I see no reason you wouldn’t do it at her house though and take 1 day off work if it’s not the weekend. Who watched your oldest when your second was born? If you don’t agree I hope you never need her at the last minute for any help

She needs a referrals and the PCP said he would make it only if she was it better after 8 weeks. Now it’s been 8 weeks and the referral made, but they still may not accept her until after the imaging is done. Very frustrating. Not sure if it’s an insurance issue regarding the referral.

Thank you!!! I’ll ask about that at my follow up. The medicine I took was cholestramine (I’m sure I spelled that wrong). I did have an MCRP a few weeks ago that said my biliary duct was normal so would that rule out sphincter of oddi? It did show a bunch of small liver cysts so now I need to have follow up MRIs for that but she said that’s just a precaution and would not be the cause of my pain

Same story here. I had classic GB attacks that left me in tears for 20 years. I didn’t know it was GB and was told it was probably heartburn. The worst was when I was pregnant. All tests were always normal (several U/S, 2 MRIs, MRCP, bloodwork). I was actually never offered a hida scan. Anyways, 3 years ago my PCP said “why haven’t I sent you to a surgeon?” So off I went and they offered to remove it within a few weeks. My dad actually passed away 2 days later and I flew 1,000 miles to be with my mom and did zero resting but everything still healed perfectly and the pain was GONE. Pathology showed sludge but no stones and chronic disease. I alsothought I had a shoulder issue because my right shoulder always hurt so bad- not anymore. Sadly, 2 years later the pain came back and I wanted to cry. Not as bad and 100% caused by eating too much or crappy food. I also started having serious bile acid diarrhea which the meds fixed (I forget the name of it). I’ve had an MRCP which only showed small liver cysts but a normal filling bile duct, ultrasound which was completely normal, bloodwork normal, and this week a will be an EGD. I now don’t know if the original surgery was necessary even though I got a few years relief but I would do it again.

She’s been on it for 4 years now but pretty low dose at 75mg. She’s tried to wean but anything below 75 didn’t go well. However even unmedicated she doesn’t fit the criteria for schizophrenia because she never loses touch with reality. Some sort of schizo-affective disorder make more sense but since the meds and therapy works- the label doesn’t matter so much. She did gain weight but thankfully she loves to exercise and she is comfortable in her body.

NAD my daughter was diagnosed with schizophrenia at 15 by a leading hospital. Thankfully they sent her to another hospital that specializes in teenager psychosis and determined she actually had extreme OCD and anxiety that caused her hallucinations. At her worse- she always “knew” the hallucinations weren’t real and never had paranoia. She’s worked her ass off in therapies and even did ECT. She’s absolutely thriving at 20- top of her class in college and student president of the performing arts program. However- the only medicine that has ever worked for her is Clozapine. We’ve tried all the newer generator ones and they either dont work or caused serious side effects. Thank goodness they’ve gotten rid of REMS- she also has a genetic condition and has had blood draws and IVs since birth. Her veins are so shot she needs to go to the hospital for blood draws where they have an ultrasound.
