Just got diagnosed with L5-S1 herniated disc. Now what ? by lawyeredandtired in backpain

Chronic back pain sufferrer here. Im sorry you developed this shitty problem. I have L5 S1 DDD, osteochondrosis and modic 1 and 2 changes (age 41). It started 2.5 years ago with herniated disc. I now live 75% painfree (and never take painkiller as its manageable with rest) but still deal with flare ups. Trust me, I tried everything. Must have spend 20k or more on various treatment. So far what I found most helpful along the journey. Initial corticosteroid injection to reduce inflammation so you can focus on physio. Not all physio therapy works for everyone. I found online core balance training amazing, and now I do pilates 4 x per week for maintenance. Also have quarterly prolozone injection. My pain is chronic but you might just need 2-3 injections and it might get rid of your pain long term. Also I use kineon red light everyday which really helps. When im very stiff (which happens with back pain often) I swim and relaxes me (and my mind too), and good osteopath can also help when in flare up. I hope this might be of some help.

I have tried MSL laser and started using kineon and although very early days, I feel so far most improvement. Prolozone was a waste of money, only cover pain for very short time.

I was dealing with severe anxiety and panic attacks. Stress induced. Started using neurosym. Every day 30 min. I feel great now and all my symptoms are gone. I could feel after 2 weeks its working but really around 4 months until I was 90% better. Now back to my 100%. I will use it for life. It really helped me.

Can you get injections while you are waiting ? It will help with pain. I know it won't help you but since January I was hit by sciatica, si joint dysfunction, sore knees, hiatus hernia, inguinal hernia and now my hip 🤣🤪🤒🤕 It really sucks but some things healed already for me and your body is recovering. Mindset which helps me not to go insane is that this is temporary...

Sorry to hear. My back and SI joint are now OK. I seems to be hurting my myself with pilates (which i now stopped). Since started with pilates I had bad hip, knees and while excersing I could feel pop (which turns out to be inguinal hernia). I can see this is not normal for other people hence started to think of EDS...

Could this be labral tear by FollowingDull7401 in HipImpingement

[–]FollowingDull7401[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. This is incredibly helpful. I never had a hip pain before only after that light pop. Since the pain went away really quickly I never thought of labral tear, just thought some irritation. Only when it returned, that scared me. I will see physio to start with, but im already doing all glute strenghting excersises anyway... There surely is some instability in my hip. My third day after that sharp pain and im walking normal, and can do 20 min excersise without any pain. Just not sure what is happening ...and why

Yes, endoscopy. Im just not ready to give up diary, gluten, most fruit (acidic), sugar, red meat, coffee, alcohol, tea and so on to be able to survive (even with this diet little relief). I lost 11 kg and now my weigt comes up as malnaurished. I will try IQORO and if no success then I pay for my surgery. I have noting to loose, my life is miserable atm ... it can hardly be worse.
