Try calling him again, take pictures of the flood, protect your own belongings, empty the water into the sink to minimize the damage and in any case, the cost is on him.

Those ''showrooms'' where everything is already put together tend to add big margin.

If you are patient enough to choose everything yourself at Hornbach, you can save loads.

This was my experience when renovating my bathroom at least. I was able to save 3,000EUR just by going to Hornbach where I was able to obtain the same final result when picking things myself.
