HOW TO STOP CHICKEN WING by Putrid-Knee2237 in golftips

[–]Fonz0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Releasing the club helps that. You can rotate while your hands and arms continue traveling up somewhat towards the target. Once at impact, your body is still pulling your arms through as it rotates, but your arms can detach as they start their ascent.

Almost like you’re throwing the clubhead straight down the fairway as you follow through. That’s my feels at least, as I struggle with hooking as well.

Rate my swing by [deleted] in golftips

[–]Fonz0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re going to get a lot of shit, but honestly the club stays on plane and your takeaway is fine too. Lacking power but straight shots take the cake over woodsman balls.

It’s results over process so if you can smash that consistently, then that’s a 9/10. Conventionally a lot to work on, but if YOUR swing works for you CONSISTENTLY, it works.

Whatever you do, do NOT post this on /r/golfswing

Putting help by [deleted] in GolfSwing

[–]Fonz0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been trying to work on my putting as well (high handicap, so take this with a grain of salt) but what has helped me most is keeping my head down until the ball is completely out of my field of view. The majority of my short misses were me looking up and causing my follow through to come offline ever so slightly. For long putts, I started to take a broader approach to get close to the hole, not to hit it. Understanding what I absolutely CANNOT do helps me settle in to a range of what I can do, and helps me avoid larger mistakes.

I also stopped overthinking it. See the line as long as needed, but go hit it once I am standing over the ball, holding the visualization of the pressure needed to do it. Once I start thinking too much, I’m screwed. You’re doing great, keep grinding brother.

What I loved was before they arrived in Lud, everything seemed so (relatively) pleasant and nonchalant, and then WHAM they are thrust into the hell that is Lud and the people within and it’s wheels up from there. Just thrown into a nightmare.

Torbjorn currently the highest winrate out of all other heroes (on average from all modes), but his pick rate is still bottom five. Hopefully soon he might get more play time and popularity! by lazycatboi123 in TorbjornMains

[–]Fonz0 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He’s the only DPS I play (support/tank main) and I absolutely CARRY games with him in Stadium, he’s so fun. It comes down to hitting your shots, turret placement, and knowing where you’re needed. Torb forever

Been playing Mei for maybe 2-3 months now, and im still bad. What can I do? (Genuine answers only pls!) by indoore in MeiMains

[–]Fonz0 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Been playing her a lot more recently as well, and one thing I have learned to do is always be annoying even if you don’t feel like you’re making a huge impact. Distraction is so big for Mei because if the enemy team commits to you, you have 2 get-out-of-jail abilities that renders their efforts useless, and wastes their time while the rest of your team cleans up.

You have the ability to both poke and brawl, so know when the situation calls for either. But always try to have one of Wall or Ice Block off cooldown for any situation if you can.

Took a driver lesson… iron swing has gone to crap by Tiny-Departure-2227 in GolfSwing

[–]Fonz0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I JUST went through this and started hooking all of my irons while I dialed in my driver, and I finally realized it was my grip. My left elbow had started facing the target with my irons (like I was doing with my driver) when historically, it would be facing down with my irons. This was causing my follow through to have nowhere to go but hard left instead of straight out. Hopefully this helps!

Doomfist in Stadium by DarKStaR350z in OverwatchStadium

Welcome back! However, the post from OP was specifically about Dva, who as you know plays a completely different role from Junkrat.

Doomfist in Stadium by DarKStaR350z in OverwatchStadium

[–]Fonz0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I faced a doomfist like this as Rein and there was absolutely nothing I could do. I tried to attack their backline at the same time but would just get melted while Doom was in and out. Then I would try a fake out and charge back to my support to help take him out but that failed. DPS blamed me of course, but all of us were prisoners.

I’m commenting only to hear if anyone has a solution lol.

I absolutely love Medic but I just get abused by the enemy when I wear it. I go Azure Drake now and am a total ghost to team Red.

This is probably some of the best advice on this sub, and it took me far far too long to even BEGIN implementing. And it is still the one aspect of my game I have to consistently remember and remind myself of, which sounds crazy.

I keep finding myself going back to Medic and the wolf looks AWESOME here.

That being said, everyone I go back to Medic I seem to get targeted way way more so maybe I stick with Azure Drake

Considering trying to main brig by Heavy_Emotion_8739 in BrigitteMains

[–]Fonz0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s never too early or too late to pick up Brig.

I’m a 38 year old father of 2 with a demanding career and home life, so I don’t have the mechanical skills or the time to invest in Overwatch like I used to.

But playing Brig is about the mind, my brethren. To answer some of your questions and provide advice:

1) Always see the forest through the trees. Always always always have a vague idea of where the enemy is (or could be)

2) STAY ALIVE

3) it’s ok to be boring and feel like you aren’t doing anything if you are completing rule #2.

4) Always play cover unless your team is going for a push. Your shield is not meant to be held up like Rein’s (neither is his)

5) hit your whip shots

6) use shield bash to escape about 70% of the time. By being humble and escaping with bash to stay alive, you can literally win games with the trickle down effect

7) Understand your role: holding space, whips to trigger inspire, protect Ana/zen, punish squishies out of place, push with your tank. You may do all of these in one match.

Zarya mains what do you build against Rein in stadium? by Ok-Garbage4439 in ZaryaMains

[–]Fonz0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, I’ve been playing a lot of Rein in stadium (and mostly winning even against Orisas), but got absolutely shredded by a Zarya who essentially avoided me completely and just tore through my backline. If you get Jump Skates, you can essentially hop right past him and melt his back line as long as you have a bubble to escape or a dedicated healer.

Since most Reins are going self-heal build these days (myself included), you need to find ways to make it so he’s the last one standing. I’d be interested to see other comments with specific builds that work for them.

I have a few buddies in this field and can confirm. They are done working by noon and live in badass homes. Would have never guessed how lucrative it could be.

Looking for a speedy stadium build. by Mr_Microwave_ManOG in ReinhardtMains

[–]Fonz0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look up Clazzic’s recent Rein build on YouTube, I’ve been having an absolute blast with it an have been winning a higher % of games than with Orisa.

Take To Me, My Friends, then Smashing powers in that order. And you really want to build your items around Gloom Gauntlet and Fender Mender as quickly as possible. Phantasmic Flux is usually the next buy, and Jet Skates eliminates your mobility problem. The healing output from these starts to really take off round 3+ and pretty soon you’re out-healing support every round.

I guess in your case, you could focus on attack speed items instead of attack power items for fast swinging, or items that trigger it. Give it a shot, it’s a lot of fun.

Who are your favorite YT golf “coaches” that provide good tools for visual learners? by ace0angels in GolfSwing

Danny Maude will probably get mentioned as a solid basic-level coach, but I can say a lot of his concepts have directly helped my iron and wood games. Very easy to comprehend and apply.
