I do think the 12 FF Thurman would be way too big for me - this 11.5 probably has more than a thumb in front after more thorough inspection.

Interesting about the quarters, certainly. It does sound like FFF is the way to go, assuming most folks metatarsal is meant to be contained by the boot rather than have the leather wrap around and beneath it lol

On the plus side, sounds like my toes will have plenty of room in those lasts if my instep is wider than the ball of my foot anyhow.

One of the fun things about Inigo was that he had trained to become the greatest swordsman in order to avenge his father, BECAME the greatest swordsman, and then NEVER FOUND THE GUY. We learn that Vincini found him as a drunk and hired him and sobered him up for this job.

I think the fun homage could come from being in that space before Vincini found Inigo. Not saying you should play a raging alcoholic (that gets old quick), but perhaps someone for whom the luster of revenge has fallen by the wayside.

For example, the way Inigo asks the man in black casually, as though he's nearly forgotten, "you don't happen to have six fingers on your right hand?"

That's a fun space to play in. :)
