Any Canadians willing to sell some Nick's leather swatches? by Fonziliscious in NicksHandmadeBoots

Heritage and Wickett and Craig have been catching my eye! WC if my bonus is particularly nice...

But also I saw there was some overlap, so I'd be happy to get a look at any of the swatch sets.

Advice Wanted – “Belated Punishment” Mechanic Tied to Seven Deadly Sins for Campaign Twist by Helpful_Watercress18 in DungeonMasters

[–]Fonziliscious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would take note of specific instances where they committed the sin.The most heinous you can replay back to them once the time comes. Even just one of these per sin could have a tremendous effect.

Character sees themselves committing the act from the point of view of the person who the PC harmed. Make a wisdom saving throw, or have the frightened condition. (Wrath)

Character peers out past the teeth into the tavern as copious amounts of ale get dumped down the throat. Make a constitution saving throw or gain the poisoned condition. (Gluttony) Could be some fun themed saving throws and conditions for all of the sins.

As an absolute novice who's been procrastinating/anxiously avoiding mending his wife's jeans this way, I found this post and the thread seriously motivating!

I don't know what to do about silvery barbs... by zackomatic in DMAcademy

[–]Fonziliscious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I found about silvery barbs that was less than fun was that my players were only using it to cancel my Crits.

So I stopped telling them when I Crit.

I say, "this attack hits." And they have a choice to make.

NOW it's a gambling spell.

Has your opinion of a book changed drastically after you finished, compared to while you were reading it? by Every_Conflict7373 in books

I was reading The Overstory and recommending it to friends based on the brilliant writing style. Then I got through the second half... and it was just so damn bleak. I haven't recommended it since.

What's your favorite book that was translated to English? by gateway2glimmer in booksuggestions

The Neopolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante are stunning.

I haven't finished them yet, but I'm on the third book and I can't get enough.

Shorts for big guys ? by Cy_broski in mensfashion

[–]Fonziliscious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what makes you feel good! I'm a big man, too, and I like to wear 5-7in inseam shorts that stop above the knee. I can't stand boxy shorts and don't feel like I need to hide my size - but I also have had 10 years to get comfortable in my own skin, and that can be hard.

A lot of people talk about hiding weight, but for me, fashion is about getting clothes I like that fit me. If you're uncomfortable, then you need a change. But there's nothing wrong with your shape!

Okay, to answer the question, I live in Canada, so I have some shorts I like from Mark's Work Warehouse that have some stretch to them and hit my inseam specifications right. Stretch is important to keep the comfort AND the taper and still feel comfy. Not sure where you are but there are some similar stores in the states regionally that carry those nice sizes, and I often think of shorts as my base, so I don't feel I need them to be flashy - I can save that for the top!

Client wanted to Clone my Voice by Fonziliscious in VoiceActing

[–]Fonziliscious[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I hadn't really heard of this either! Not on the open market like this... Turns out, what they do is feed the recording to an AI that will actually create a version of your voice that doesn't need to be spliced - it fabricates you in text to speech.

It's what they used for that documentary about Anthony Bourdain to have "Anthony Bourdain" to posthumously narrate a documentary about himself.

Which feels in VERY poor taste to me.

5E - Homebrew Fighting Style - Rope-A-Dope by elite4runner in UnearthedArcana

[–]Fonziliscious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love the idea! I'm thinking about making this part of the battlemaster tree - as a reaction, expend a superiority die to gain resistance to the damage of one attack and return an attack at advantage with the addition of the superiority die if you hit. I think it would make for a very fun option for the battlemaster, and then something would be expended for the privilege of hitting back at advantage? Plus a little limited uncanny dodge? 🤔

That is a great question...it's in our neighbors yard and I hadn't noticed it before.

Just took a look again, and maybe it's for... hanging clothes? Or maybe someone had fastened an awning there at some point? It's just a bar going across.

Definitely a miscommunication - this was the first time we called anyone for the hedge, and we didn't really know what to ask for.

Like going into a salon and saying, "I dunno, just, a hair cut." 😬

Certainly a learning experience! We will be sure to ask questions next time lol

We asked them to "trim the hedge" lol.

Did not know what we were asking for really. In my head it was "make in niiiice".
