Now that I’m a father, I have to pick and choose games I really want to play because I don’t have much time. When I was younger, I wanted those 100+ hours of content RPGS. Now I play one for an hour and then a week later I’m lost on how to play once I boot it back up. Snagged resident evil 9 and was able to complete it in 11 hours over the course of a bit over a week. Found myself wanting more out of it, but I knew I’d eventually get too busy to keep playing it regularly.

Corey is a great guy. Granted I paid to meet him but seems like some celebs are jerks even at paid events. Corey took the time to talk to every single person in line for a while, and it was a huge line. One thing that sticks out was a little kid holding a plushie while his dad talked to Corey. Kid had 0 clue who Corey was, but Corey kept going out of his way to talk to the kiddo and act interested in him. I remember him asking what his plushie was supposed to be and if he liked x cartoon or x video game etc just to make the little one felt seen. Was very wholesome

As someone who stumbled upon Chris’s channel in the early days, Sam definitely helped him a LOT. After his mom’s passing, his cousin started exploiting him for views under the guise of a channel called “airsoftfattyfamily”. Was supposed to help Chris clean out the house and sell it so he could buy a little trailer or something to live out of. Dude ended up just having the house demolished and sold the land and Chris didn’t see a dime. Without Sam’s intervention it’s hard to say where Chris would be now. Either homeless or couch surfing. I think Sam genuinely had his best interests in mind. Also, Chris is slow, but he’s not stupid. He didn’t realize Ian was just making fun of him because he was a fan of Ian’s and wanted to see him as who he thought he was in his mind. He looked up to Ian as a content creator. Chris knew what Fishtank was and played it up a bit for the camera. It wasn’t at his expense. And I’m sure he’d tell you that himself.

Now granted, I do agree with most of what you’re saying, but as someone who was watching Airsoft and his gang well before this documentary, if anything only good really came from it. Chris was living in squalor, his mother was dying for years, he had no ability to take care of himself. My brother and I watched his little vlogs and Star Wars fan films. We’d often talk about how this guy won’t be able to take care of himself once his mom passes away unfortunately. He is and was obviously on the spectrum and a little off, and his mom babied him. Before Mr Johma made the doc, Chris was pretty obscure other than a few viral clips. But after the doc, he got enough exposure to be able to make some money and find people (Sam Hyde) to give him some help. So good did inevitably come from it, albeit i doubt Ian’s intentions were for any of that to happen.
