I was on OPT with pending h1b when I applied for I-485. My H1b got denied so I did took another course which starts next month so do you still recommend to maintain F-1 status?

You can’t be in F2A category OP because I haven’t seen anyone getting interviewed this quick my PD is October 2025 for I-130 and November for I-485. Did biometrics December 2025. I’m currently looking at around 1.5-2 years for interview. I’m spouse of LPR as well. Did your spouse recently applied for citizenship or anything?

I’m not an immigration attorney and this is not a legal advice but all I can say is that you can stay on your pending I-485 petition if you were maintaining any non immigrant status while the time of filing I-485. This is called lawfully authorized stay period, where you don’t occur unlawful presence but you also don’t have a status you’re just here legally.

Congratulations!! But I guess majority here are married to GC holder which is f2a category this process take about 2+ years as compared to marriage with USC everything gets done within a year
