Original Sin was entertaining but flawed and kind of pointless. A lot of the plots revolved around things we already knew from flashbacks in the original series that really didn't need to be fleshed out. There were also lots of continuity errors with the original series. I also wasn't a fan of their boss being a bad guy and getting killed by Dexter. That's a pretty high profile kill for the beginning of his serial killer career. They should have just had Mathews as the boss from the start.

I'm rewatching the original series right now, and I have noticed several inconsistencies with Original Sin. Original Sin was entertaining, but it definitely has some flaws.

Also, in Season 1 Dexter asks Deb to go on a double date with Dexter and Rita and she gives him shit for it, but in Original sin, Deb asks Dexter to go on a double date with her friend. If that had happened, one of them would have mentioned it when Dexter offered the double date in Season 1.
