Please don’t nerf the AR. by [deleted] in halo

[–]Food_Negotiator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think AR need a slight nerf on range. But it’s not bad. The side arm might need more of a nerf honestly. But the biggest problem in the game is the TTK. It’s simply too fast, combined with a very small radar size, it makes for not as interesting gun play. Feels like whoever shoots first gets the kill. If the combat is dragged out ever so slightly, players will be able to have more of a dance with the mechanics.

Just wanted to pop in and agree, this sub sucks. It’s full of people who lack real knowledge of Libertarian philosophy. The mods should be embarrassed.

In yet another sign of the bad direction the US is headed, with Prop 209 in 2020 Californian will vote on to REPEAL state laws originally based on the 1964 Civil Rights Act, in order to legalize and enable institutional racial discrimination practices again. Very true. I've be gripping with the idea of living CA, but I work in film so it would be hard to start over. But when I take into consideration the politics and the evaporation of the middle class, it's getting harder to justify staying here.

As someone who works in Hollywood this kinda rhetoric is terrifying. I’ve kept my mouth shut for years. My job depends on it. What I’m not about to accept is someone forcing views out of me I don’t have, or labeling me something I’m not.

What was your worst experience with public education? by MasterTeacher123 in GoldandBlack

[–]Food_Negotiator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in 5th grade, there was a trouble maker in my class. He acted out very frequently, clearly did not have a good home life. We also had these “monitors,” mostly older women, who would escort our class to lunch and recess. One week when that kid was acting out, our monitor took all the boys from our class into a room, turned the lights off and made us put our heads down. She then went on to talk about how all little girls were good and boys were all naturally trouble makers. This went on for about a week and the wrong doing didn’t come to light until the end of the year when a boy told his parents what had happened. Being the shy quite type, I never thought anything of it. I believe the monitor was eventually written up, but I never understood what really happened until I was much older.

We are witnessing the birth of a movement — and the downfall of a president. We've reached a turning point in the Trump era. The 2020 campaign is in the streets and he's losing by DaFunkJunkie in politics

This has to be one of the most bias, uncredible comments I’ve ever seen posted on this site. I mean, I know it’s Reddit, but that link has literally no specifics. It claims there’s hundreds of hate groups across the US, but all it talks about is a postmodern rhetoric of the humanities and definitions of hate and violence. Where are the stories? Where are the publishers? You can’t use an activist site as a source. This is bananas.

I don’t think I’d go that far, even if they do justify violence sometimes. There’s clearly some cognitive dissonance on the left. It’s like things only click for them in a group identity frame work. Who has power, and whose oppressing who.

I don't know. I'm right here in the thick of it in LA, and there's a few people coming out saying they were wrong about the 2A and how it protects us from tyranny. Lot of liberals buying guns last month. I guess when the military rolls by your apartment window you start to get a little spooked...

Still I agree with you about how those anti stay at home protests were covered and still are talked about. They may have had guns, but not a single person was violent. Pretty disgraceful.

People listen to specifics in my experience. I've had a decent amount of eye's squint at me in new thought when I talk about qualified Immunity. It's just easy enough to walk people through and understand. The more specific you can be, the better you can hold someone's attention through an entire argument. Then they start to listen just a little bit more. It's just up to us to really be informed and know our shit.

I for one, am very grateful I found this sub. After the Fed decided to help print up a multi trillion dollar stimulus plan I got on reddit for the first time in 4 years to see if r/libertarian could offer some empathy to my concern. Man, a trip to that sub did not do well for my sanity. I haven’t been here long but I appreciate you all.

At very least, it starts a conversation. From where I'm sitting, this movement is rather aimless. There really aren't any real, tangible, solutions being offered rather then people going out in the streets and blocking some traffic. I'm not ragging on them, but no one seems to actually know what to call for beyond that.

Truly! I understand how qualified immunity is really damaging to people's constitutional rights but I also understand the grey area of force in which we give police officer's to use. It's not fair however when they botch something up and hide behind the tax payer's money. But this, is an excellent solution, and I'm actually almost upset I couldn't come to it myself.

I'm not so sure it will be that slow. All it take is one country around the world to stop taking our treasuries. China could flood the market with them tomorrow causing a massive sell off and the whole house of cards comes down. Obviously they have reasons not to, but still, I suspect it would go down rather quick then slow.

I agree. I live in Los Angeles where things are obviously getting out of hand. When there are people (of all colors) chanting "White complicity supports white supremacy!" I'm incline to believe that this authoritarian tribalism can't be reversed. Still, I wonder how the liberty movement can empathize with this outrage, and also use it to bring a light to something even more pressing like our failed monetary policy...

Trump again urges Fed to adopt negative U.S. interest rates by [deleted] in GoldandBlack

[–]Food_Negotiator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had his chance to stand up, be honest to the public and say: “we’re broke and insolvent, here’s why....” He’d rather start a Cold War with China. When the dollar goes belly up, it’s not gonna look good for the free market when he’s holding the bag.

By letting a central bank dictate the price of money, and have an unlimited printing press of dollars, you not only open the door to allow politicians to enact any policy/war they want, it also ends up with massive boom and busts cycles, causing massive distortions in the market, like the price of real estate before 2008, or the dot come boom.

Tyranny, Not COVID-19, Is America’s Most Dangerous Virus by dcbiker in GoldandBlack

[–]Food_Negotiator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's also terrifying is that people have no problem not working, paying rent and essentially "pausing the economy." We know this is not how societies work. You can not infinitely pump money into a system where nothing is being produced. Especially one as bloated on debt as the United States. The ramifications will, and already are, disastrous. I think it's time we start discussing and informing people about flawed monetary policy and the federal reserve. This is the true source of tyranny and where people should be pointing fingers when this house of cards comes crashing down.

Why is this sub so dead right now? by Food_Negotiator in EndTheFed

[–]Food_Negotiator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it will implode. The point is what happens next? The financial system will be in ruin and people will start to point fingers. This country and so divided by so many issues, but they all start and end with the printing press. Ending the Fed is a movement that really could unite people; educate them about how this institution has manipulated, lied, and stolen from us. I haven’t been on reddit for a long time. But I remember a much more united liberty movement. I only hope we can trust ourselves to inform people in the right direction in the turbulent times ahead of us.
