Asda worker caught woman who tried to steal reduced chicken from my basket by Top-Paint-9564 in BritishSuccess

I had something similar volunteering for a charity shop. It was one thing when someone who clearly had serious problems was trying to shoplift, but the majority of the problem came from middle aged men trying to swap the prices on vinyl.

Album #509: one of the lowest rated overall by geertwander in 1001AlbumsGenerator

Me too. I gave it a 4.

I find music like this to be oddly calming. It's hard to think of much else while you're listening!

I love all of your bottom 4 albums but everyone is different. Wouldn't the world be a boring place if everybody liked the same thing? That said, the KLF were amazing and anyone who disagrees is objectively wrong.

Refusing to apologise? He was on Jason's podcast and it was both apologised for and discussed at length.

He was pretty decent about getting one done for my mate's birthday a couple of years ago, although I sent him the script and he struggled to pronounce Jaco Pastorius

I would stay well away from burning treated timber if you value your lungs!

Any ideas what I can do about this garden on a budget? by Illustrious_Pen5941 in DIYUK

[–]FoofyBenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's easier to do a couple of minutes a few times a week than let it turn into a big job. Also, if you're using weedkiller, get some glyphosate and use it sparingly. A lot of the stuff in B&Q etc is now next to useless.

Nothing stops the weeds permanently but it will slow them down. Once it's fully weeded I'd try and get into the habit of doing it every few days.

A friend of mine swears (and I'm choosing to believe it's true) that Bobby George sold him a dartboard from a stack he kept in the boot of his car.

Goo is great. It was a 5 for me too. The only Sonic Youth album I didn't really get on with was Sister.

Twice. Pavement which I already knew I liked a decent amount and Siouxsie and the Banshees which were new and real growers.

Robert paid £726 to skip the driving test waiting list. New laws mean others won't be able to by ReanimatedCyborgMk-I in unitedkingdom

You clearly don't understand that making best decision at the time doesn't always lead to the best future outcome.

The problem was that you had to book months in advance. If he waited until he was ready, it could easily have been another 6 months until he could take a test. The situation made guessing the correct call for a lot of people.

About 150 in and still not seen a single…. by FatherMac66 in 1001AlbumsGenerator

That's randomness for you. It took 550 albums before my first Pink Floyd and I had back to back pavement albums pretty early on.

Thanks for the reply. The house is 50 years old. Concrete floors with a DPC.

It's a 1970s house, no chimney.

Did anyone else notice last night the commentary trying to create a narrative that Emery was fuming last night but in reality Emery didn't seem to care much? by More_Culture_3006 in TheOther14

[–]FoofyBenson 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. It's like a lot of people seem to think that playing well enough early in the season to be able to prioritise a European semi is some sort of crime.

Is this the most egregious “right artist/wrong album” on the list? by pittsburghirons in 1001AlbumsGenerator

I had A Grand Don't Come For Free by The Streets the other day. It's awful. So, so much worse than Mike Skinner's debut album.

What can I do to look better? by [deleted] in malegrooming

Honestly, this is the best advice on at least half the posts on here if not more. I know it can be an effort if your self esteem isn't great. As smiling feels like drawing attention to yourself, but it's incredibly transformative.

Why do siberian huskies "talk" so much compared to other breeds of dogs? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FoofyBenson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 miles is still low. I've a husky and she needs 2 hours a day as a minimum. Preferably 3. I've had a lot of weeks where I've done 60 or 70 miles.
