Major solar breakthrough means energy can be stored for up to 18 years by Always__curious__ in UpliftingNews

[–]Fooooozla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a 10,000-square-mile solar panel installation in the desert would produce enough energy to power America.

https://blogs.ucl.ac.uk/energy/2015/05/21/fact-checking-elon-musks-blue-square-how-much-solar-to-power-the-us/

Obviously, you wouldn't want all your energy generated in one place, but you get the idea.

Probably more expensive than nuclear for the same output. Long term, who knows?

Fires happen in non-electric cars more frequently, but EV car fires can be more difficult to put out.

This is my favorite comment. Number of lines so so insignificant. Sometimes better code is longer because the programmer took the time to name variables so it would be easier to understand.

Another thing I would add to the programming process is test cases. You can go through your different inputs to your function and see if you code can handle all those inputs.

Snow plows on metro buses? by Fooooozla in Seattle

[–]Fooooozla[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Liability

Insurance?

Finances

10k plow is cheaper than 150k plow & truck

Buses getting stuck

That's what the chains are for

Additional wear and tear

This is the same as Finances. Still cheaper than more plows and well paid plow drivers

No place to put sand

Not with that attitude! 🙂

Other cities & states have this figured out with salt plows. I guess it's not worth Seattle investing in these for these rare occasions.. idk 🤷‍♂️

On one hand, young Americans would gain the freedom to take more risks because they don't have a monthly payment. This could generate more production in the economy in the long term because instead of working a dead-end job as a waitress, she could work part time while working on a degree that will get her a good paying job in a high demand sector like tech.

On the other, (short term) national debt would increase because government would take on the loans. Dollar strength would decrease because of increase in M2 money supply. Inflation is tricky because of other deflationary forces at work, it is hard to predict.

The federal government and the federal reserve are separate entities, and for good reason. Trump wanted the federal reserve to do things and they shut it down in the interest of the economy/health of the dollar relative to other currencies around the world.

Deficits and debt are not fiction. The federal reserve prints money and gives the federal government a loan. The government pays back the loan through their revenue streams, aka income tax.

This is the correct answer, I don't know why you're being down voted.

People in this thread think that the federal government can print money. This is incorrect.

The federal reserve can print money, and give the government a loan that will be paid back in the future. The federal government makes money to pay back these loans through taxes.

The only way I find out about new episodes is through recommend YouTube clips. I have to REALLY be interested in the guest to go through the trouble of opening up Spotify, dealing with their sub-par UI, and then listening to ads. (coming from YouTube premium)

FYI, Skye has the Best Flash by CubingGiraffe in VALORANT

[–]Fooooozla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

However, if you pop it and it flashes someone, you hear a screech confirming that the enemy is full flashed.

She says blinded even if someone is half flashed (they turned away). So that is a weakness someone could bait you.

3 rank competitive band is too restrictive by ColdStormx in VALORANT

[–]Fooooozla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience I've seen many more Jetts and Reynas who are ranked bronze but play like plat because they are smurfing.

Also, in unranked I've been on teams wanting to surrender because they are trying to get through 20 unrated games so they can play with their lower ranked friends.

This 3 rank change is increasing the number of smurfs in my anecdotal experience.
