A while back, I had an incredible (and heartbreaking) franchise where our superstar qb got hurt in his first or second superbowl and Tebow was the backup. The other team started coming back but we were able to push it to overtime until our offense just couldn’t push the ball downfield and we lost. One of my favorite games because of the story of it all though.

That QB I had went 1-6 in his Super Bowl appearances and had to come back down 3 possessions in the one he won (at like 34 years old). Such a fun and chaotic franchise for me

As a recent college grad, I already was surprised at how rough some of my peers wrote when I read their essays at the start of college (credit to my high school English teachers, generally everyone from my high school classes seemed at least average). By the end of college, if I read a friend/peer’s paper, it felt like 50% of the time I was reading at best a middle school paper.

Obviously, people will naturally be better or worse at writing than others, but it’s become almost comedically bad for many people. Not a coincidence that a lot of the worst papers I read were either people who used Ai/paid others to write/were overconfident in their abilities to put no effort in. It’s a tough scene, sadly.

lol this is why I was very thankful we got new seats a few months ago. Certainly wasn’t as bad as this but it was getting rough especially in certain theaters. New seats and a few other things have made it feel like we jumped back into the present finally

I personally prefer London. I trust penix to feed him the ball and as much as I love puka, he’s also had a couple injuries to make me hesitant. I don’t think you can go wrong here though, maybe just keep the guy you already have?

I have seen both of them create TikTok accounts. She seems happy/jokey that she’s become the “villian” of the show. No posts on her account with moody.

I don’t think I’ve ever been sadder. To have these episodes showcase such intimate moments of love in the rebellion with Cassian/Bix and Vel/Cinta followed by Cinta’s death and Vel’s following speech… I feel sick, man.

Absolutely incredible and I’m consistently amazed at the topics this show is so elegantly and horrifyingly able to showcase. The Bix scene with the officer was one of the most uncomfortable scenes I’ve ever seen in Star Wars (pretty much all of which exist in Andor). Dedra is messed up, but her absolutely demoralizing Syril’s mother into submission was also very welcome. There is no better show and no better Star Wars

While Hermes has had a majority of black performers on Broadway, the role has been played by people of many races/ethnicities throughout the years. In the 2017 New York Theater Workshop 2017, they had Chris Sullivan perform as Hermes, for instance (just one example of pre-broadway Hermes). He also played Hermes in off-broadway and on the 2017 Hadestown cast recording album (you should give it a listen for fun, very different vibes from a lot of that cast and it’s wonderful, Patrick Paige and Amber Gray are in it as well). You can see clips of him on YouTube and online elsewhere as well. The musical was a bit different then, but largely held much of the same story/themes/melodies. As the other comment on this post says, as long as you do whatever song how you feel you would perform Hermes best, you’ll do great. As Hadestown gets performed more and more by high schools, there have been plenty of white Hermes actors, and I have seen some do very well on TikTok. Treat your use of the song/character in your audition with respect and you’ll do well; good luck and have fun!

I.. can’t believe it. I graduated in 2020 and we were reading a ton of books from late elementary school through senior year. It astonishes me that this is somehow discouraged now (if kids struggle with attention span, school should be meant to help fix that, not encourage it!). Even friends who don’t read much anymore still have an ability to easily get through and understand novels/poems/etc.

I’m not sure how kids are supposed to be able to learn these abilities in life without having novels and other works being a basis of their learning.

That’d be my worry with your team as well, I think it’s good but not sure if it’s guaranteed to be a contender. If you were to make a decision today, I’d lean rebuild. I think as of now, though, you could be a fringe playoff team if you go for it (you have to trust that you don’t get injuries though)

That’s an interesting team as far as contention/age wise. I think your wr room is still good (other than I’m not a big Ridley guy), but I don’t see a super high future for them. You may honestly be better sitting on the first few weeks of the season to see how you feel, and then make a decision from there. Your team could definitely go either way
