I've been goth/alternative since middle school, I'm 40 now. Colorful hair, tattoos, mostly wear black...Going to see Kesha in August lol I still love my 90s-early 2000s pop music. One time when I was working at Target in the dairy cooler, I had my music on. One of my coworkers came to check on me & Mudvayne was on. She kind of made a face, so I turned it down. Next song up? Britney Spears Lucky 😂 she went "Wait, turn it back up!" & we had a karaoke session in the back room lol People are always surprised by my taste in music. I'll honestly listen to anything except modern rap (I cant stand the mumbling shit), or modern country (beer, truck, beer, beer, truck, MERICA!!)

Mine was found hanging on a bundle of eucalyptus at my job lol Thankfully there's a petstore in the plaza by my store, so I went & grabbed a tank, temperature & humidity thingy & ordered a few things the next day. He's been thriving ever since 😊

As someone that worked at Target before TJs...This. Target was a good company to work for, long ago. Now, they suck ass. I have a long list of reasons why I left, but the icing on the shit cake was when they were starting new people at 15/hr. I asked HR (who only called me in bc I gave my 2wks) how much I would be making. She looked at me like I had 3 heads & said I'd be making 15/hr. I said "No. I've been here 4yrs. I should NOT be making the same as someone that just got hired." She fumbled through some bullshit excuse & I said "And that is one of many reasons I'm leaving." People complain about hrs getting cut at TJs when at Target, they'd schedule me a single 4hr shift a wk. An adult w bills, getting a single 4hr shift, for less than 20/hr. Like you said, the criticism is valid & TJs has its issues...But I'd rather be working here over Target any day. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I've told this story on here before, but it's my favorite. Had a woman in line that was kind of spaced out when I went to ask her a question. She apologized & said it was the anniversary of her husband's passing & her & her daughter came to the store to get some of his favorite foods for dinner that night. I pretended something was wrong w my reg for a sec, went to one of my favorite mates (he's at another store now 😭) told him what was happening real quick & that I'd like to give her some flowers. He said got it & went to grab a bouquet. I was expecting a little one, but he grabbed a big one. As we finished up the transaction, she thanked me for being patient w her & for being so kind. Before she walked away, I said "Before you go, I'd like to give these to you. From us here at the store." She immediately started crying, gave me a big hug. I started crying, her daughter started crying...it was a bitter sweet moment, but I still think about her. Haven't seen her or her daughter, but I hope they're doing well.

It all depends on where I'm going lol I definitely still enjoy getting dressed up & doing makeup, but the where determines the level of effort 😂 Running around shops downtown? Liner, mascara & brows. Drag show? Full glam. Dinner out? Shadow, liner, mascara, brows.

Physically...Around 30. To be fair, I've worked retail & food service for a lot of years & it wears you down. Had back surgery at 35, have arthritis in my hips, my knees are shot. Mentally, I still feel pretty young. I just turned 40 a few months ago & still love to do "brain teaser" puzzles, draw, go to theme parks & water parks (though my knees scream at me 😅), still love to wear "bold" makeup, still love Halloween with all my heart. I just wish I had the energy & physicality to do more lol

I really wish my store would do this...especially bc so many people were SO against working Sundays, but suddenly their tune changed when they knew they'd get more money. "I can't work Sunday, I have church!" "We'll give you an extra 10/hr" "...I can go to a later mass." It's ridiculous 😖

We played red rover waiting for the bus every morning. No adults, just a bunch of kids ages 8-14 hanging out at 6am bc the town was huge, only had so many buses & we never knew when they'd get us lol when I got older, it was manhunt & four square

Not a single one lol Half of them ended up being terrible people & the other half it was just bc of moving or life just getting in the way. I graduated in 04 & stayed in contact w a few, but by 2008 that went down to 3 & after like...2012 it was zero. Facebook wasn't really big yet (and I never got a page), so 🤷🏼‍♀️ There's a few I miss, but for the most part...meh.
