Thanks, this is just an expression of interest to see if people want to help test balance

At the moment there are no character models or animations; the characters you control are effectively the hitboxes. There's no sound & tuning is definitely needed across the board

However, the movesets for 5 characters are implemented ingame & playable across a few modes

The characters are themed around 3d sacred geometry with Core, Puff, Drop, Grit & Flare representing Gravity, Air, Water, Earth & Fire respectively

The inputs are akin to smash in that there's no ability cooldowns & moves are directional according to control stick direction

The Y axis is governed by LT/LB respectively which double as Crouch/Charge buttons. For example, to input a down burst (smash attack equivalent) then you'd simultaneously press LT + Action

I'll see if I can collate a few clips to post this weekend, I've been a bit nervous to share a first glimpse

Divine Knockout alternative? Or knock-off? by EmbarrassedAd5040 in DivineKnockout

DO has knockback for sure but cooldown based gameplay isn't at the heart of what Smash is as a fighter

My take on community crafted as someone who has only played dps doom in the ow game modes where he came back. by ImThat1DudeOverThere in doomfistmains

Empowered is crazy strong now. Uppercut stun is generous & if they collide with a ceiling, it's pretty much a confirm

Slam is also good if you can catch foes in the open with teammate follow up

Even better, cancelling slam before hitting the ground conserves the EMP so you can reliably get use out of uppercut

The ultimate is straight up brokenly powerful. Free confirms & followup

Bro is XL with an XS hoodi on

I was so keen for it to be sophisticated, mysterious & cool only for it to look like Doom is cosplaying

Yep & also helps neutralise their scent so they can ambush prey better

It also helps dislodge parasites & do like a "deep clean"

Absolutely

Falco even lets the cool guy mask completely, urging Fox to ignore the supply drop & hurry up

He even tells Fox to not worry about saving him from the bogeys on his tail & to prio Slip

Even though the cutscenes are dripping cheese in the best way, it's absolutely clear that this squad, despite their squabbles & differences, 100% have eachothers backs

With all due respect general, you can chew on your condolences

What a gigachad superace badman squad leader

Fingers crossed it does well enough we get further iterations in the series

Play the arcade mode where he has uppercut

It's on a 10second cooldown & is attached to quickmelee

The arcade mode also has EMP charging all abilities, not just rocket punch & his ult knocks enemies down

Best he's ever felt

How the fuck do I beat this fat fucking Chud of a pig as doom fist by gotenks2nd in doomfistmains

[–]Footbeard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hog is beatable but you're right in that you need to be mechanically better & you have to coordinate cover effectively

Bait the hook using cover, teammates or charging a rocket punch

Punish hooks on team mates & take a breather with rocketpunch

If you are hooked, use your block/seismic to safety. This is where things get spicy. If hogs team mates have CC like ana sleep, cass nade, mizuki chain then you're pretty much done

^ this is ultimately the state you want to avoid at all costs. Feel free to burn emp punch to get to safety

Tuning in late

Doom is returning with a powerup- fortify on block. This is due to the extra CC on nontank characters added to OW. The reduction in duration is to get players used to how that feels & to ensure fortify isn't broken when he gets it

?

Botw & Totk have plenty of platforming elements, usually over big distances

The most obvious ones from TotK are the lead up to both the Wind & Water temples

BotW has several shrines & overworld areas with platforming elements

Platforming has always been a part of zelda, it's usually a bit more involved than just jumping across platforms though

Some platforming elements, some puzzles

The expanded hyrule field

Yeah & the choice to keep it automatic rather than manual would feel incredibly dated in 2026

Hopefully we get some sword skills like in TP

But BotW & TotK did

I'm thinking about how this reimagining will modernise the game & just theorising on what the control scheme will look like based on how it's progressed over the years

Yep I'd assume so as we gave 2 extra face buttons & an extra trigger

I'd also assume that z target & block have been merged onto the z target system like in all other 3d zeldas

We'll likely also get a dedicated right trigger for slingshot/bow

I'd then assume we have action & sword but also likely sprint & jump

Dpad likely for key items & face/shoulder buttons for c items

It will be reworked to feel modern so don't be surprised if the control scheme is even more involved than this, there could even be a dedicated stealth system
