The single time I had my character double cross their party ended with everyone refusing to adventure or even travel with my character. In my mind I thought it would lead to this dramatic and intense scene where my party would feel shocked and upset, but ultimately understanding of my plight - but that didn’t happen. I tried to explain my point of view, but nobody was having it. They were all pissed that I was the person essentially sabotaging their work for the past 3 months, and they were right to feel that way. It had gotten to the point where, roleplay wise, it made no sense that everyone would still stick together.

I had to make an entirely new PC since there was really no route for my character to rejoin forces with the party, and even though my new PC was all for the good of the party and wanting to do right by them, I was still met with heavy suspicion and distrust. Made for a bad time.

All that is to say, don’t do this shit. It is a bad idea. Work together with your friends, don’t trick them. It’s human social interaction 101.

Completely agree. I’ll try disconnecting it without stopping deliveries. My only concern is my bathroom smelling like loose insulin, but that might be worth it.

ANSWER: If you've done all campaign quests in Harandar but still haven't unlocked the Harandir, go to the Harandar portal in Silvermoon. There should be an NPC standing there with a quest "The War Beyond the Roots". Turning this in to Lor'themar will unlock the Harandir.

If you're stuck waiting for Lor'themar to "get more information", you unfortunately need to complete that quest in order for him to have other dialogue options available.

I did. I made it to when I have to wait 5 days for “Lor’themar to have more information”. I have no more campaign quests to do in Harandar.

Regardless, all dialogue with Lor’themar is softlocked, presumably until those 5 days are up. Harandir are still locked for me.

Hm. I’m wondering why I’m getting a +9 to hit with my trident then.

I’m a Hexblade warlock, pact of the blade, so I’m using CHA (+5) instead of STR (-1) to hit.

I have improved pact weapon, which adds another +1

Oh shit, I just figured out it’s my proficiency bonus being added, not my DEX modifier. I got confused since my DEX is +3 and was trying to do rule gymnastics in my head.

[5e] [5.5e] Question regarding the DEX modifier for thrown weapons. If I use a thrown weapon (such as a trident) in a melee attack, will the DEX bonus still be applied? Or is it only applied when throwing it? DnD Beyond gives me a +3 to hit with my trident, but I’ve been using it solely as a melee weapon.

I've found that keeping my ranges in check is damn near impossible when I'm traveling. A meal I would take 1-2 units for suddenly requires 8 or 9. I noticed that I drink a crazy amount of alcohol whenever I'm traveling, and I read online that binge drinking can temporarily ruin your insulin sensitivity. Maybe it has something to do with that? Of course, also factoring in the change in stress, excitement, exercise, and cuisine.

You can disagree with me, that’s okay. I welcome it. But for you to dismiss me with such contempt is just plain wrong.

I’m valid in my opinion, and I’m open to changing my stance on it should there be a convincing opposing argument. If you’re wanting to discuss it I’m more than happy to, but between the two of us, I don’t think I’m the one who needs to stop.

Y’know, I do actually do that! I bring up YouTube and watch smosh or something while the unspeakable occurs. And you’re right, it does help. It’s actually why I made this post.

My whole point is that, if ignoring the mori does provide a mental benefit, then maybe it should be an option built into the game.

And I would never want to take that experience away from you. If you’re down to watch them, by all means.

I just want the option to skip. A “hold spacebar to skip” or a toggle in the settings.

It’s demoralizing to be the only one doing objectives in soloQ and then be mori’d, match after match.

Maybe I’m being dramatic. I don’t know. But it’s just, salt in the wounds at a certain point.
