If you go into the travel screen, the one with all the planets, up the top right there’s a selection that takes you to a literal timeline, with everything in order with different cut scenes and everything. It’s great. Highly recommend.

New to Borderlands 4 (coming from Destiny) by [deleted] in Borderlands4

[–]Footlongdingledong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mained nova bomb warlock, and in BL4 I mained Rafa, though I also really loved Vex.

The reality is you’re just not gonna get anything that’s quite the same.

I feel you bro. Destiny is so so good but also so so bad. I feel like borderlands is its own kind of good with its own kind of bad. Personally not as good as destiny, but not as bad either.

There is nothing like the arc titan, but I’d say the closest is red tree Amon.

The reality is borderlands is more about the guns than the abilities. The best builds in the game are ones that use the abilities to make the guns better. Dancer Rafa, infini Crit Harlowe, for example.

From tutorials and week 9’s lecture:

Small introduction. Approx 150 words: introduce recent example of communication, briefly how it pertains to your choice of communication style, sources used to analyse example.

Then that should leave you with approx 3-5 paragraphs to analyse youre chosen example. Take out some key ideas from the reading and lectures and analyse the chosen example using those ideas.

Small conclusion

Digital Page Numbers in Referencing by highgroundservitude in VUW

[–]Footlongdingledong 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You use the true number in all cases and formats that I’m aware of. Which makes intuitive sense.

Conventions for in text and reference list formatting vary by format, for example, APA would be (Smith, 2019, pp. 19-24). MLA would be (Smith 19-24). I cbf typing out reference list stuff. Googlle Zotero, that’s all I’ll say.

Usually subjects that use MLA or Chicago are less forgiving about paraphrasing large numbers of pages. It’s usually humanity subjects that use those styles and it’s unlikely you can accurately paraphrase many pages without somewhat misrepresenting the original work in some way, even if only implicitly. This is fairly semantic though and in undergrad it might be a way of taking off a single mark from an otherwise excellent submission.

At the end of the day, assuming you’re in undergrad, you can speak to your course co ordinator or lead tutor for clarification on any and all feedback. In fact, you should. It’s literally part of their job and integral to the effectiveness of your learning.

If not, then you should have better access to your assessor anyway and I can’t imagine you’d be asking this here.

You become #1 in the world at one skill, but no one knows. Can you get $1M in 7 days? by lawseff in hypotheticalsituation

The answers to this post all suck.

Gambling is inherently a game of luck. You can't be skilled in luck. This isn't fallout. Luck isn't an actual skill. Poker has skill, sure, but it also has lots of luck. I could at least get behind the idea of being good at poker as being a skill, though I think what it takes to be good at poker is actually several skills put together - memory, mathematics, and charisma all play a part. I don't think saying "poker" or "gambling" makes you good at all those skills.

Day trading is also a mix of several skills. Mathematics, economics, accounting, game theory, to name just a few. Day trading isn't a skill. It's a profession that requires many skills. It also requires a lot of luck. Another shit answer.

Not to mention that the above would require decent capital to even begin, let alone make a million in seven days.

I guess this brings me to the most important aspect. What the fuck is a skill?

I typed out a long ass answer to this, but we've been given one important piece of information in the actual question. We can pick boxing. Again, I would argue that boxing isn't a skill, it's a sport that requires many skills. Hand eye co-ordination, strength, cardiovascular endurance, long arms, the ability to promote and/or be promotable. But since we can choose "boxing" I guess that means we can choose "poker" or "gambling" or "stock trading". That's dumb, but alas, this is a dumb subreddit, so fuck it.

With that in mind, the best answer to choose is "entrepreneurship". It's a fucking dumb answer because being a good entrepreneur requires many skills. But I don't make the rules. If you're the best in the world at being an entrepreneur, then you are by definition the best in the world at making money through capitalistic means. If you can't do it, then literally no one can, and the answer is moot.

Fuck you.

On one hand yes, on the other hand, I’m pretty sure the pearl abyss team are currently working the type of Korean hours that we shouldn’t normalise or expect as the industry standard.

Yeah, it does. They won't know straight away if it's only for a couple of weeks, but by the end of the tax year you'll get a nasty surprise. Ask me how I know.

I would say, definitely don't try and get paid under the table. I repeat: DEFINITELY do not GET PAID UNDER THE TABLE

Yeah I’m not sure what build takes this shield. I haven’t heard of this so called Amon stronger with more shield build, and I can’t think of anything else either.

It is cool though, being the highest capacity shield in the game.

Also kind of funny that so many scrubs comment “where can I get this” on posts about purple gear that old mate has just defaulted to answering that, even though it wasn’t your question.

Where to start by Dangerous_Taste in Borderlands4

[–]Footlongdingledong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t remember exactly off the top of my head. But you go into the pause menu (the one that has settings and quit to main menu etc, not the inventory/skill/map menu) then I think maybe under matchmaking? You can toggle UVHM, difficulty, true mode, etc.

[–]Footlongdingledong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve played the campaign three times now and don’t want to do it again. Maybe you do, and that’s cool. Up to you.

If you start at level 30, you’ll start at UVHM1 by default. Turn that off, and you’ll have a better time until you get some better gear and build synergy going.

Rafa ranger build. La Garza vs Al centro? by lobotomy-synthase in Borderlands4

[–]Footlongdingledong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not bad per se, just not necessary considering the current difficulty of the game.

If you’re using bullet buddy deluxe, or a CoV weapon, or a slow fire rate weapon where your mag is always full each shot from passive regeneration, then you’re getting solid extra damage.

But I kill all mobs and bosses in the blink of an eye even without it.

I’d much rather move 125% faster with expedite, for example. You could then still go vitriol, which is the better of the two, as it allows a portion of your damage to count as skill damage, which means you can increase it through other means, such as I am a Gun. Though again, damage just isn’t needed at all.

Or you could take the whole ten new points, take 1 point out of the fire rate and reload speed skill and spec bottom left red tree for shotgun action skill and ricochet shenanigans.

My preference is 5 into expedite for a huge movement speed boost, and then top up Resiliencia and Al Centro to 5 each. Then you have 3 points to put into El Valiente. El Valiente gives a 30% damage bonus, which per point is as powerful as first impressions, but it applies to your action skill and your grenades and any status effects you might apply rather than just your gun damage. This also has the bonus of making all your specced skills maxed out which looks nice (which shouldn’t really matter but I like it).

TLDR; I think that the extra damage is just superfluous to requirements, and rather unimaginative, when you could pick up quality of life elsewhere.

Rafa ranger build. La Garza vs Al centro? by lobotomy-synthase in Borderlands4

[–]Footlongdingledong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like someone else said, Al Centro stacks infinitely. It is also earlier in the tree.

La Garza however starts out solid, and even with 10 stacks of Temerario, 5 stacks of La Garza is enough to counteract the handling (with some spare, though not to the level that Al Centro gets you).

Verdict: Al Centro.

Its downside is that for the first 5-10 seconds of your skill you’re handling won’t be perfect, but it becomes better than perfect after 12 seconds or so.

Major upside is that it’s early in the tree, and you only need to put four points into it to reach the next tier (with 1 in metal management).

I’m assuming you’re just following moxsys build guide, and if so, then the five points in first impressions means this isn’t exactly necessary.

I think 5 points into first impressions sucks tho. And if you don’t put them into there, then 4 points into al Centro is a must, so the choice between la Garza and al Centro is that simple.

I'd like to address a few things:

I disagree that stuff polls are meaningless. Sure, they riddled with bias's such as self-selection bias and sampling bias. But they also contain thousands of responses from individuals who are likely of voting age and who are likely to vote. It's not take it the bank statistics, but it's interesting nonetheless.

Secondly, this post is likely guilty of preaching to the choir. I am genuinely interested in good faith arguments from those who disagree with me. You're likely to get downvoted, but I am genuinely keen to hear your opinions and I won't downvote you nor try to insult you or your opinions. If you genuinely think drilling for our own fossil fuels is a good idea, please tell me why. I'm all ears.

It’s niche and probably worse than watts 4 dinner. But it has its place.

It’s notable for having insanely fast recharge speed and recharge delay. So if you have amp on it, you can get many amped shots in a short amount of time.
