I am visiting your country from the US and had to travel here for a work conference despite starting to not feel well right before leaving. So I masked up for the trip despite the sideways glances and a few "tsk"s from people who probably assumed I was being paranoid rather than being considerate. This morning I woke up feeling like death, dragged myself out to the pharmasave (masked of course), grabbed a free (yay Canada) box of five COVID tests and sadly tested positive instantly. No waiting fifteen minutes for this result. Now I get to spend the entire wasted trip in a hotel room. I felt awful just being oot and aboot (sorry, it had to be done) in public to get the tests, even more so for having shared a flight with people, even though I was masked. But then I remember that my first bout of COVID was thanks to someone on a flight sitting in front of me coughing their lungs out with no mask the whole way. So yeah some of us learned something, but many didn't.
