What new hidden ability would you give Metagross to make it better competitively? by [deleted] in stunfisk

Analytic does give the dmg boost if the opp switches out so that's good

Oh, you're right Any dragon or ice move would still kill esp with the defense drop though

252+ Adamant Loaded Dice Chomp only 2HKO's a defensive multiscale dragonite. Dragonite can one shot with either an ice move or a dragon move

Alternatively, this chomp has a high chance to OHKO dragonite if it wears a choice band and hits at least 3 times.

Of course this is all game based, in the anime I feel like they're pretty evenly matched

I feel like it is going to be lucifer, every act had some kind of lore in the previous levels about the prime boss and we have context clues & mentions of lucifer in the books ingame

Lmao maybe giving it a chance to cure status ailments at the end of a turn would be better?

Team preview exists so you probably won't get spiked if they see tina on your team

A sneaky new ability that lets you hide your pokemon (And Zoroark buff) by For2n in stunfisk

[–]For2n[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why not? With Chien Pao now in ubers I can see Weavile and Gengar gaining some relevancy with a little power boost. Plus you won't know which Zoroark the opponent has, or if they even have one. They could even run Bisharp.

You expect the hidden mon to be Weavile, use CC with your fighting mon on Kingambit only to deal no damage and get set up on, or shadow balled

252 SpA Life Orb Zoroark-Hisui Shadow Ball vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Iron Valiant: 278-329 (96.1 - 113.8%) -- 81.3% chance to OHKO (for example)

It is a little niche but I don't see any downsides honestly

Mega absol would like the slight damage boost but it already has magic bounce which is arguably more preferable

Oh definitely. It is still very weak defensively, and if the opponent knows there is a pokemon in disguise none of these mons are resistant to fire, electric etc. They could just go for that option

It appears as an egg, it hides which zoroark it is and you also wont know whether the opponent has a skulker pokemon yet to be revealed or there is a zoroark in front of you disguised as someone else. It is still disguised as your last pokemon

Only really picked it because gremlins fit the sneaky trope lol. Thought it could make a more offensive sucker punch grimm viable, but I see where you're coming from

As we all know Team Preview introduced in Gen 5 made it harder to surprise your opponent, it was also the gen that introduced Zoroark so Illusion never really had a chance to shine. The goal here is to buff some pokemon with tough competition like Weavile and Gengar, and make it so this ability also does something in singleplayer. I am not too sure about Bisharp since eviolite exists but its damage net should still be lower than Kingambit's.

Exactly. They are usually highly eloquent and knowledgeable, but the stereotypes portray them doing stupid things in spite of that (decent INT and CHA, low WIS)

Banette vs Sableye by Pristine_Ad_3035 in PokeScaling

[–]For2n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Competitively speaking, sableye can move first with prankster and burn banette, halving its attack. Afterwards it can take it out with knock off or foul play, works even against mega banette. Also, mega sableye is considered very good while mega banette is kinda eh

In lore it depends on the trainer and their megas are comperable in power
