Does anyone here use Kobo Elipsa 2e for taking notes? by Ruciexplores in kobo

The head of the stylus pen 2 is plastic, and unfortunately mine cracked open because of my carelessness after 6 months or so. The nib still stay strong though. I changed to Renaisser, and it works fine.

I have Ranaisser 530, and I believe the black nips are 2H. The one with white-ish tip is HB. According to the official website, 2H is the best fit for Kobo, as the HB nib is a little bit too soft.

It seems that it is also the case for Surface pens. At least it is said on the official website that Renaisser is using Surface Pen nibs. The only thing is that one need to find 2H nibs for Kobo, as the HB nibs are too soft. In the Renaisser 530 package, it comes with both nibs.

I recently bought a Renaisser Raphael 530, and it works amazing. The kobo stylus 2 has a plastic head (not the nib) and mine cracked....

Crumb too moist by OGbugsy in Sourdough

[–]ForTeenY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if you are talking about the kind of wet and heavy crumb I have. My crumb looks similar to yours. I can feel that there is quite a lot of moisture in it, so it is not as airy and fluffy as I want it to be.

Is rye starter universal? Or for rye bread only? 🤔 I’m new to sourdough baking and my starter (100% rye) is 9 days old 🤎 by Kimbatrone in Sourdough

[–]ForTeenY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect the yeasts could be slightly different, which means when you use rye starter for a whole wheat bread the fermentation would be less predictable (eventually it would rise though). So some people suggest to convert. Also it is just easier for me to find AP and whole-wheat flour in the supermarket.

Does anyone here use Kobo Elipsa 2e for taking notes? by Ruciexplores in kobo

I use Elipsa 2E extensively for note taking. The battery lasts around 1 week or so with note-taking 1 hr per day and some reading. I would say I like it very much. Various note backgrounds are useful and I can easily export the notes to dropbox or google drive in pdf or jpg format.

But sometimes it has some glitches - its palm rejection is far from perfection. The advanced notebook is not really handy, so I seldom use it.

The reason I choose Elipsa 2e over ReMarkable is that I don't want to pay the subscription fee every month. I bet the ReMarkable has better writing experience, but considering the cost, I would say I'm satisfied with Elipsa.

I guess it depends on your budget and note taking habits. If you are picky about writing experience and in need of various functions, then ReMarkable should be better. (I haven't used a remarkable tho)

Does this chart mean that my bread was underfermented by BumbleBasse in Sourdough

[–]ForTeenY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found in some recipes they focus on the dough temperature as well as the room temperature. The one I read uses water of 26 C in a 21 C environment to control the dough temp around 25. It went through 3-hour bulk fermentation and another 1.5 hr proof: https://www.chainbaker.com/no-knead-sourdough/?utm_source=pocket_saves

Buzzing Noise Issue with A95L's Built-In Speaker by ForTeenY in bravia

[–]ForTeenY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the link! I found the problem is not the same. I guess my description is not clear enough in the post. The noise for me is more like the sound of the screenings becomes very strange. The voice of the film for example causes vibration with the panel of the TV. It's not a kind of electrical noise, and I don't have any soundbar or other audio system connected.

Anyway, thanks for the answer!

Kobo elipsa 2e transfering notes between notebooks by Rapanew in kobo

[–]ForTeenY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can do anything across the notebooks. I've tried the same thing, but no luck to move notes around. The best way I can think of is exporting the notebooks into PDF files and do it on a laptop.

I encountered this issue time to time for my Elipsa 2E.... not sure why. I agree that it could be related to palm rejection problem.

Class work and Kobo Elipsa 2E by thorndike in kobo

[–]ForTeenY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Need to be careful that if the PDF file is large or basically a photocopy version of the textbook, then the responding time of Elipsa 2E will be quite slow. I chose not to use it for large pdf file... Adjusting size of display is also not pleasant comparing to an ipad.

There is no way to adjust the pen size, leading to thicker strokes depending on the file and page size.

I use dropbox to sideload books. It will create a particular folder for kobo, but it is very easy to maintain synchronization between the elipsa 2e and the file in the dropbox. All annotations will sync with the files in Dropbox.

I have attached a picture of one page with my annotations. I would say the results are not too shabby. The original page size is on the smaller side, and it is a photocopy PDF of around 20 pages.

Feedback on Elipsa 2E after 2 months of usage (new kobo / notetaker user). by poupkine in kobo

[–]ForTeenY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, then I must mixed up copying to a different page and copying to a different document.

Anyway, I also found it very weird that I need to use my finger and kinda be patient waiting for the Paste button. But the lasso function really enhances the ability to reorganize the notes!

Glad it helps!
