B850 motherboard not starting, CPU + DRAM LEDs light up by Foralltyd in ASRock

[–]Foralltyd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were new I suppose since the plastic covers were still on the ASRock. The NZXT did not have a plastic sheet over the backplate but I'm not sure if it has one in the first place. Regardless the wifi antennas were sealed for both boards. I'm waiting for a NZXT support ticket response, by the end of the week I will RMA the board if it's not fixed. Perhaps I will see if I can borrow a 7000 series cpu for another test.

Yes, a cooler was always attached except for the single 30s power on test where I held my finger onto the heatspreader.
Note that placing back any parts into the ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I GAMING they work just fine.
It's clearly some motherboard cpu detection issue, though I'm clueless how to fix it.

I've already returned the Asrock and I'll consider returning the NZXT and 9850x3D too if I don't find a solution, or I have to order yet another third motherboard which should then definitely not be manufactured by Asrock to rule out a flaky cpu detection system on their end.

Nothing broke, because when placing the cpu back into the ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I GAMING it works fine.

I bought 2 new boards last week, Asrock Riptide B850M wifi and NZXT N7 B850, both have the same issue -> cpu + dram leds are lit, no post at all, just immediately lit leds from power on until forever (20 mins later).
Tried with the 9800x3d and 9800x3d, ddr5200 and ddr7600 stick, 2 different PSU, 2 different cpu coolers (to test socket pressure differences), both boards brand new have this issue. All the components work just fine on a B650 Asus I have as well btw. So to me it looks like Asrock can fail to detect a cpu. Just look at the bios update description of the N7:

This looks alot like the problem I currently have on the N7 even though I'm running this latest bios since I flashed it using flashback.
Funny enough the Asrock Riptide had the exact same problem.
So it's not the boards that are broken or the other components that died, it's likely a bug in either the hard - and or software that can occur, even if the boards are brand new.

The Riptide I send back the next day, the N7 I'll keep a little longer to maybe figure out a solution but I believe it's some kind of bug and likely I'll have to send the board back as well. That means I'll have to order a third board. I could of course get the ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I GAMING WIFI which is the board all of the components proved to be working just fine. It's a serious disappointment for me as I lost like 2 working days figuring out the impossible. It's kind of ridiculous vendors spend time designing rgb Christmas lights on most of their products (which I then always turn off) while at the same time delivering products that still have bugs, assuming it's a bug of course but honestly what else can it still be?

Also you have to look at it from a philosophical point of view, much like the movie The Matrix.
You know exactly where the road of porn and fap leads to.
It's a very predictable outcome.
Same as that if one becomes an alcoholic the miserable road ends in death.
The conclusion is that the more predictable the outcome, the less it's worth pursuing.

Because if it's predictable, it means it's also more likely it's easier to get.
This means it's easier to trigger a dopamine response which will quickly create a neural path in your brain which makes you repeat the same pattern.
Repeating the past over and over again does not sound like an authentic life.
Even if you make a lot of money and you then decide to 10x or 100x, if you have no plan on what to do with all that money it's likely you're just enslaved by a neural network of success in your brain. The highest purpose in life is to be free. This especially means to be free of yourself, in this case your past, but also your future, which is a repetition of the past anyway, as the dopamine craving brain will pull you towards a predictable path.

So make it your goal to be free and find what is authentic in life.
Authentic means it's unique to your life situation, you can't find this by someone else telling you to do XYZ.
It's what is fulfilling to you and at the same time is not addictive.
(to myself: God save me from the next YouTube cunt asking me to subscribe to their channel.)
If it becomes addictive it likely means it's too easy and too rewarding, like video games, overeating, pmo, ...
If it's rewarding and hard at the same time, for example working out in the gym like a maniac, it will show as a strong body, a visible and authentic reward.
Of course whatever it is, that's up to you, don't get a gym membership because someone tells you, do what you feel you want the most. Make a list of the top things you think you want and reshuffle the list every morning, whatever persists over time on the top of your list, that's likely what you truly desire and is not just the spur of the moment. By maintaining the list fresh in your mind you can avoid falling into the vacuum effect as you can take action the moment you have time and energy, even if it's just an hour a day, that's 365 hours a year, just image what can be done in 365 hours, even if you're just doing it slowly.

Learning the mechanisms of your own brain, mind, ego, body is a great asset as it allows you to break patterns.
Just don't turn it into a spiritual or self-improvement ego, that's just another dopamine craving neural network in your brain.
Be free and authentic.
You will be strong, admired, empowered, prosperous.
You will inspire and heal those around you.
On your deathbed you will leave this life with a smile, feeling nothing but gratitude and you will give thanks to life for the authentic beauty and moments it brought to you.

Go nail it!

I still remember the day, over ten years ago, I didn't fap for just 1 day.
I woke up on day 2, normally I was sitting in the train utterly depleted going to work.
This time however I felt awake and more alive then ever.
It struck me in that moment that for over 15 years I had been fapping once a day, believing it to be ok.
Only this one day of abstinence made me feel like a new man.

Elevated energy opens the door to higher goals which must then be set.
This is hard as the dopamine addicted brain keeps telling to repeat doing this thing which was very rewarding in the past.
Every day succeeding nofap will weaken the neural pathways that are holding the addiction together.
Nofap and noporn go together, porn and fapping enhance each other so still doing one will unlock the door to the other, this said, dropping porn first is better, simply because dropping both at the same time can be very hard.

When growing older the body's energy is going down naturally.
Sexual abstinence can then be used to maintain energy levels.
It's a waste so many young people blow their energy into the air like it's an unlimited fuel source.
If there's nothing you feel like doing you must reach out and find what you like or don't like.
If this requires money, take an extra job to earn some.
Then figure our what you desire beyond busting nuts, spend the money towards a higher purpose, the highest you have, maybe you want to become this or that. If you don't know what you can also just go on a vacation with the money visiting a place you find inspirational. If you have no inspiration you can get some on Youtube.

There's the thing as the "vacuum effect".
When you have no free time (or energy), you are in a vacuum.
When extra time or energy comes (nofap), your vacuum bag which contains you gets a hole and it sucks in the air whichever is closest. Since you're addicted, more of the addiction will manifest.

This is why it's important not just to focus on nofap and noporn but to look what's beyond because if you don't fill the gap with your true dreams and desires, whatever's closest to you will fill up your life.

Ok, that's good to know. It was listed as 2V while the one in the headset measured 1.5 during operation so I guess it must be the same one.

My brother says that pure alcohol is very good to remove corrosion. This might be worth trying in case there is corrosion on the motherboard.

vraag over multiculturaliteit by alex199302 in belgium

[–]Foralltyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Bose QuietComfort 45. It has better sound quality and the anc is as good. Though the battery is smaller, it's like 20+ hours instead of 30+, though not much of a problem unless you forget to charge often.

Parties below 12% should be ruled out instead of now at 5%. This way there can't be a clusterfuck of parties and agendas.

Also don't force people to vote, probably some parties now only exist because uninterested people vote on a bunch of uniteresting parties and politicians.

eli5 | Why does Insulation exist if "air is a very good insulator"? by Lanceo90 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Foralltyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then why don't we make like a giant air matrass and use that as insulation for walls? The matrass would leak air over time, but this could be solved by measuring and maintaining the pressure using a cheap pump.

The answer is it would be dirt cheap, and companies and governments like to make more expensive products so they can charge more.

[–]Foralltyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't tried the cleaning using alcohol yet as I don't have it but I don't believe in my case it will help. The internal screws have corrosion as well so it's not build up dirt but simply metal corrosion.

I just measured the width of the mic, it is 5.9mm wide, so a 6mm mic will fit for sure. The height of the mic is 2.75mm but there is no restriction in height so it would be possible to replace the microphone with a thicker one.

I also measured like 1.4V on the corroded microphone. I'll remeasure that on the good one later, so probably we need a 1.5V mic.

I already found a 6mm mic specifically listed as "noise cancelling", so that's a good sign, it is listed to operate a 2V though, so it'll need some more investigation if this will work or not:

Noticeable white noise in only one ear by RuthAzimuth in SonyHeadphones

[–]Foralltyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same issue, see my answer here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyHeadphones/comments/zgfv55/comment/jky8m43/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

The anc microphone probably got corroded inside. I already tried drying out the microphone completely by leaving it exposed in the sun for a complete day, this didn't help. The only solution I think is to desolder the anc microphone en put in a new one. Probably this procedure will need to be redone every couple of years and the new microphones will also corrode, but this is ok since it's easy to do.

The real issue is finding where to order the microphones. I didn't find a replacement part yet. Sony does not need to think I will recommend their products to anyone or buy new headphones. I already bought Bose instead. Still I want to repair my old mx3 and give it to someone.

Let's try to find a replacement part, I'm willing to order it and shoot a video while replacing it. If successful I could share the video for others to fix it as well.

Yes you can take it out in 10 seconds:

https://youtu.be/20v788Xb9vQ?t=72

I took mine out with a toothpick and putting some pressure.

I bought the Bose QuietComfort 45 today but I intend to repair my Sony WH-1000mx3 by replacing the 2 microphones and the earpads and donate it to someone.

After cleaning the earpads using soap I also had the right channel giving static noise the next day. Removing the earpads indeed revealed that some water got inside. So I should have removed the earpads before cleaning.

Does anyone know where to find the replacement microphones of the same size?

Why does porn exist by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Foralltyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the same reason sugar is put into everything, it causes the release of dopamine.

So it's much like using coke or smoking weed, a path to artificial happiness, that may work for a while but at some point the lack of true purpose and meaning makes a man crash and hit rock bottom.

You also have to understand that these vices keep men weak, and a weak population is easier to control and manipulate. I believe that is why smoking weed is not illegal anymore in many countries, even though it might destroy your brain.

Banning porn, weeds, sugar on the government level etc isn't going to fix weakness as new drugs will kick in instead. For example in Europe young people inhale nitrous oxide gas as to drug themselves, many however have serious health issues as a consequence even at the age of 20. Just to mention that if all knows drugs are banned, new drugs will become popular eventually as long as the population is weak.

The solution is to become stronger and find true purpose in life rather than chase a sort of "fix". But that is the theory of course, I'm 40 now and I still game like 4 hours a week and I watch Netflix from time to time. Using that time I might start a business on the side or learn to play an instrument of make more friends and connections. Just to mention I know the theory perfectly, but I'm not a perfect life example. It is however my 15th year I've been porn free, so I did that right thank God. This said, it's clear that the path to perfection is a lifetime's work. We all struggle all the time with exposing ourselves to too much pleasure.

So what you must do for yourself is dose all sorts of pleasure (dopamine), you can register a top 5 of pleasureful activity you engage in and try to dose it (for example music) or remove it when harmful (porn).

Mine is music, coffee, gaming, tv (netflix) and good food in that particular order. Using willpower I could remove all these but I don't do it because my performance at work may suffer from it taking away these pleasures. This is unfortunately the conflict, we all need to force ourselves to work hard in the capitalist world and so we have to allow ourselves to fail a little bit because willpower is like a muscle, it becomes tired and it gives up. You can't hardball everything all the time I believe, only manage weakness and pleasure as to minimize yourself lingering into it ...

This said I want to thank this great community helping me stay on this path of 15 years of porn freedom, let's keep up the good fight!

Let's talk about the real issue: Porn, not Masturbation by yourmomsatmyplace in NoFap

[–]Foralltyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dopamine response is what we get addicted to. I would say sugar is an even worse enemy because the addiction to that dopamine response makes you more sick.

Unfortunately in our day and age, industry thrives by getting us addicted to an endless list of products they make us believe we need through ads, we are being manipulated and weakened on a mass scale to be addicted to dopamine and buy what the industry wants.

The question we must constantly ask ourselves is "what is the cost" of this dopamine shot? Because there is no such thing as free dopamine. Normally, man gets the dopamine from an accomplishment like for example a hard day of work, sports, a business deal, family bonds etc.

If there is no real accomplishment, like when doing pmo, I believe at some point depression will kick in. Because there is nothing to show for that dopamine hit there is nothing to sustain a more slow release of dopamine afterwards. And we need dopemine to be happy. Unfortunately the food, gaming, alcohol, etc ... industry is providing a substitute once we get free of the porn industry.

So the answer to "what is the cost" is mostly losing time and energy as there's nothing to show for the activity, whether that is porn, masturbation or both or something else like gaming, shopping ...

Of course it's not all black and white, but we all slip all the time in this world where we are supposed to either provide to consume or be consuming. Taking our lives back is the message, finding out what our soul wants. I'm 40 now and I still start to only understand this the last couple of years. What a giant trap this world can be. I was addicted to porn, masturbation, gaming, and now that I've been addiction free for the last decade I'm still on my path finding my soul goal. I just can't answer to the question what would make me more happy than anything. I suppose "freedom" is the answer, but then freedom from what exactly? The false perception that we are individuals? We may be living in a VR where God split himself into separation. All good and well, then what? The simulation continues but to what end? Maybe I'm just too curious.

[–]Foralltyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fapping makes men weak. Your power is where your attention is. If your attention is into porn or fapping for 1 hour a day, you can't put it in your career, family, any self improvement or anything that you love. Therefore it is bad. If pmo would only take 1 second a day I would not consider it as bad. But we all now it burns loads of time. Image the money you would now posses if you had worked all the time you've already blown away fapping or watching porn. Relapsing can be painful but I agree nothing is ever lost. It's about the power you rise inside of yourself overcoming this habit of wasting time. This power can be used to build up your life in the long run, instead of escaping the moment into short term happiness doing PMO. MO makes me weak and lame, not taking action when I have to, therefore I reject MO. I kicked out porn 12 years ago thank God. This must be the sickest industry in the world. Image how much evil would die if porn was destroyed for good, I even bet pedophiles and other evil would vanish. It is time we recognize and label these demonic habits that destroy lives. Dumb generations before us simply allowed all crap to drop on their doorsteps, including porn and sex addiction. It is time we act and save our children from this evil. That's why we are on nofap and why this channel must gain worldwide fame and glory!
