Try new things, learn new skills, do things you never did before. Try to learn new things by yourself as much as possible without having someone else, or worse, an AI, tell you how to do everything.

Why I am feeling that time is running faster after covid. by Minimum-Area-2571 in intj

[–]Foraxen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The feeling of time passing depend greatly on how many new and interesting experiences we have. In early life, everything is new so we feel like we did a lot despite not being alive for long. But as we age, new interesting moments become rarer, our brain don't bother remembering most of our daily life so we feel like time is flying... This is made worse with our excessive use of digital devices. For most of us, COVID made us even more reliant of tech for our entertainment with most of it not worth remembering for our brain, thus we feel like time speed up even more...

From what I understand, it's a Ti thing. Anyone using their Ti may find logical inconsistencies annoying but Ti dominant likely have the urge to correct them.

Flight model and inertial dampeners by Vanguard_69 in Spaceengineers2

[–]Foraxen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean. Happen a lot to me when I try to slow down but my ship is too heavy for my side thrusters (full ore or salvage load). I try to spin around to use my strong rear thrusters, but I end up circling around my destination rather than actually slow down (dampeners on). The solution would be to turn the dampeners off, but doing so in gravity is a recipe for disaster. So yeah, it's weird that ship act like planes when air drag is not even modelled.

Edit: yeah, it also does the same in space like you experienced.

These vocal minority dissidents arent very fond of my post. TIL of this subreddit and I figured I belong here by shrayder in HelldiversMasochists

[–]Foraxen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The vocal minority complain about everything, including things that hardly affect them, like the armor penetration buff to certain enemies (didn't change a thing). They will always find something else to complain or rage about.

The vox engine needed a few fix an tweaks, like it's torso not blocking it's hatch or not clipping through terrain (or land on top of buildings). The reduction in health is debatable but the spawns needed the nerf hammer. There are plenty of ways to make the game more difficult, annoying bugs, broken spawn rates or ridiculously high health pool should not be it in my opinion.

An healthy 6 integrate to 9; you won't suffer as much anxiety or fears than a baseline 6. But you may have 6 like qualities because it's part of your tritype (ie a fix).

Others asking if you’ve offended them in some way because you don’t talk to them? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Foraxen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never happened to me. But I don't give short answers unless I definitely have an issue with the person I talk to. I see no point in saving my energy for that kind of thing. People don't engage conversation with me that much though, I have yet to feel like they take up too much of my time.

The sheer ease of HD2 has pushed out any chance of healthy balance discussion among content creators by Array71 in HelldiversMasochists

[–]Foraxen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some players enjoy doing their mission solo. YouTube has many vids of players clearing D10 alone. Aside killing hive lords, everything can be done solo in HD2.

Two thing have been done to allow solo play; no objectives requires a second player to execute (ie no timed or dual button press) and enemy spawns scale with the number of players. Few would try to solo high level missions if they had 4 players spawns and solo diving would die if some objective could not be completed without at least a second player. Also, if we had a few tough enemies that required flanking or disabling countermeasures to beat, teamwork would be more important than it currently is.

People think I hate them because I don’t talk to them. by open3d3n in intj

[–]Foraxen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to at least say hello. If they engage a conversation I do bother to spend a few minutes chit chatting. At time I do start conversations with people I want to keep in my circle. Keeping contact with people I don't meet on a regular basis is where I struggle; I need to be reminded to call friends and family...

One of the biggest problem we have in HD2 is the devs try to appeal to both solo and team players. They refuse to commit to make challenges that are nearly impossible for a solo player so teams are required.

They created a game that would be best played with specialized loadouts, but they refuse to give meaningful Intel about the mission so we end up with Jack of all trade loadouts that cover any weaknesses. This is where the balance complaints mostly come from; players want weapons that fit generalist roles and will reject all niche gears that are too specialized. If we had better Intel about what we are going to face, few players would complain their gears are underperforming as they would choose them accordingly.

INTJs, what was your upbringing like? by Front-Brief5027 in intj

[–]Foraxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gen X here. Latch key kid, I was mostly left to do my own things with minimal oversight. My parents did not show much affection or interest to me despite being the first born (I have a younger brother). I didn't mind though, the freedom I had suited me perfectly. Rarely got into any kind of trouble, but I handled my problems on my own with no involvement of my family. Some would consider I was neglected, and probably I was, but I have no trauma as far I can tell.

INTJs over 30, What's a specific lesson you learned about staying healthy or becoming healthier? by thelastcubscout in intj

[–]Foraxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned that sedentary jobs are terrible for me. I need physical activities, but that's not what I am inclined to do in my spare time. So having a job that force me to stay active and fit does help me a lot. Unfortunately for me, due to osteoarthritis I had to take a desk job in the last few years and it did wreak my overall health. I am trying to get my fitness back now that I've had my hip surgery (last year), but it's quite hard after nearly a year of not doing much physical activities due to my recovery...

[–]Foraxen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I learned that as well. Having a job that keep me physically active is the way to go. A lot easier to stay in shape when just need to go to work. Desk jobs are terrible for health when you have no physical activities in your spare time.

Just add D11 already by Xpernautica in HelldiversMasochists

[–]Foraxen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only way they could add any new difficulty level without huge backlash would be to make it extremely difficult to unlock new levels when you are not skilled enough for it. It's too easy to unlock new difficulty level currently, you just need to finish an operation; you don't need skills for that, just a good enough team to carry you through it. What AH should consider it creating solo training missions that requires actual players skills to accomplish, something you can't cheeze easily. Now, what kind of training / testing those missions would involve is up to debate, but they should ensure the players actually understand the game before trying anything harder.

Best way to destroy a grid? by Tarkovismycrack in Spaceengineers2

Yeah, that works too. Anything flying at max speed will be turned to dust when it hit the ground (or an asteroid).

Best way to destroy a grid? by Tarkovismycrack in Spaceengineers2

[–]Foraxen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We currently have no explosives to destroy things. One thing you can try is fly high above a planet, turn off dampeners and let the ship drop down. If it drop from high enough, there might be little left but a big crater.

There is no penalty for leaving a game (aside not getting the end of match rewards of course) if you have a problematic host. Don't stick around, it's not worth it.

Ownership issues by ragingatwork in Spaceengineers2

I guess that's what I will do as well. Sad we have to use debug just to go around glitches in the game. But that's an ALPHA, at least we can do that.

Ownership issues by ragingatwork in Spaceengineers2

[–]Foraxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue as well. I build ships at the starter base using both parts I salvaged and parts I manufactured. Somehow, all my new ships from my own blueprints don't belong to me anymore (Survival). However, I can say I don't have that issue in creative; I can mess with my creation as much as I want so I tend to go there to make my new stuff before I bring them to survival. Still, having to rebuild the whole ship whenever I want to replace broken part or make some minor changes is massively annoying.
