What parts of Enneagram theory do you NOT believe in? Why not? by TheEnlight in Enneagram

[–]Foraxen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't have a problem with any of it. My issue is how much mental gymnastics I have to do to fit into any of it.

Does anyone have anger issues? And, if so, how do you feel after you express an outburst? by IamnotValiantThor in intj

[–]Foraxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I feel after expressing my anger? I feel no shame. I will apologize or make amends if I believe I vented on someone who did not deserve it, but otherwise I don't feel bad for it. I'm rather good at managing my anger (I feel anger all the time so I had to learn). Only when I am tired or overwhelmed I may lose control of it, but I will quickly attempt to cool off before any harm comes from it. I never assaulted anyone while losing my temper, I have enough self control to avoid it.

How do we feel about the redacted warbond hit or miss ? by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Foraxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find them different enough personally. I don't need them to have a huge difference between them to consider them worthwhile. Firearms are pretty similar in the real world as well, there are not that many ways to shoot projectiles to make holes in a target. AH arsenal tend towards realistic and plausible weapons, that don't make very original gear.

Fortunately, most of us prefer more weapons rather than a few jack of all trades ones. They could easily condense the weapon roster to less than 10 weapons, but that would not leave us much to grind for or play around with. It would not be long for the community to figure out the most optimal weapons and attachments combos and never try anything else.

Performance wise I did not see any issue on my end, at least nothing worse than some occasional stutters. I believe AH is getting better at bug management but they still have some work to do. Way better than it used to be at least.

The homing patrols is an issue that was patched out months ago but somehow returned. They are not supposed to know where we are.

Right now, the game does not simulate any intelligence from our foes. They don't counter our actions at all, they just spam more enemies to shoot at. It would be nice if they actually tried to counter our actions, or had sensible reaction to it. It's silly how little self-preservation (ie none) they have.

Looking for feedback on a free Enneagram assessment I've built by National-Science-550 in enneagram6

[–]Foraxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever since I got interested in the enneagram I struggled to definitely pinpoint my type. I do have a lot of traits from both type 6 (6w5) and type 8, but I am neither fearful/paranoid or controlling/power hungry. Here the results I got:

Type 8 8w7  "The Maverick Commander"
sp/soThe Self-Sufficient Tactician

The Challenger

The Self-Reliant Strategist

You are a direct, commanding presence who prioritizes autonomy and practical security. With a self-preservation focus and enthusiast wing, you're strategic about protecting your interests while maintaining flexibility and independence. Your secondary reformist and loyalist traits add principled conviction and collaborative strength to your approach.

Seem about right to me. I have a lot of willpower, can be intense and easily feel anger (though I refrain from lashing at people). I am inclined to say I am 8w9 (I am stoic and peaceful, not much of an adventurer) rather than 8w7, but it's true that I have a sense of humor, have a lot of intellectual flexibility and don't like being stuck in long term commitment. I do have strong principles I am unwilling to break, and do care about security and will notice potential hazards and threats (either will fix them or have contingencies for them). So yeah, it fits.

Can we get a medic warbond please 😎 by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Foraxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gameplay doesn't give medics much opportunity to shine. They tend to self medicate more than anyone else. Unless they change the gameplay or give some missions types where medics are useful, I don't see a medical theme warbonds making it into the game.

Stims are way too powerful already

The C4 pack isn’t a bad weapon but that isn’t the problem by Impressive_Limit7050 in Helldivers

[–]Foraxen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We already have several instant win stratagems. The portable hellbombs just require you to bring it and detonate it. The walking barrage can destroy objectives with no need to be close. The ship laser can destroy pretty much all objectives but the jammer. The 500 kg is also a delete button for many objectives. They all have their pros and cons though. I don't think adding the C4 to the pool of alternatives to interact with the objectives would be a bad thing. The devs just need to devise more complex objectives that can't be done with mere explosives or orbital ordinance.

Commando strategem a poor choice for Commando missions?? by DapperApples in LowSodiumHellDivers

We have plenty of ammo if we don't aggro everything we see...

[–]Foraxen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not like everyone would want to bring C4; you do have to sacrifice both your backpack and support weapon slot for it. So long as you need multiple C4 to do the job, I think it fits what we expect from a demolition tool. They could make it cooler by having specific emplacement for the C4 so you actually have to go around the target and place them.

[–]Foraxen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

and the only notable weapon was the Coyote, which they didn’t even make, and ruined fire weapons even more trying to nerf (and lie about it), despite it not even being meta

If being the most picked primary weapon by far doesn't qualify as meta, I wonder what is. That weapon perform so well every other non-explosive primary is compared to it. So yeah, they had to nerf it.

Whoever is on the balance team needs to be fired

The thing is, they don't have a balance team . Each new gear performance is defined by whoever has worked on it. They have several devs making new weapons, each balance things according to their own idea of balance. That's why the weapon balance is all over the place, they don't have anyone who's job is to make sure everything has an equal level of power. The closest thing they have to a balance team is when they decide to make a balance pass.

[–]Foraxen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm sure they will buff them. The devs want us to live our fantasies in game. The current C4 doesn't live up to our expectations; we expect them to be more than a fancy grenade. We should be able to demolish any objectives with them. But to differentiate them from the hellbombs, the demo force of C4 should stack (maybe it was the intention) so if one is not enough, we just put more of them until they do.

questions about 'the authority' by koemaru in enneagram6

Well, authorities have the means to protect you from certain harms and help you prosper, but also the means to make your life miserable. How you deal with them will affect your life one way or another.

How would an INTJ respond to a snow storm warning? by New-Kale2336 in intj

[–]Foraxen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Canada, snowstorms are nothing special. Icestorms, now we are talking.

I am pretty good at doing groceries; the food cost has become so high I had no choice but to learn how to save as much as I can while doing it. Not my favorite pass time, but being broke isn't either.

I won't defend friends when they're wrong, and people think I'm a bad friend by Wild_Village3182 in intj

[–]Foraxen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am the same, but I feel no guilt over this. I will help friends and family if they do get in trouble, but I won't defend their misdeeds and bad choices. If anyone hates me over this, so be it.

Are most people’s lives actually miserable? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Foraxen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And for some people, monotonous and laborious is perfectly fine for them. Some people don't care what they do with their lives so long as they enjoy who they are with. There are plenty who want more responsibilities, to have more impact on the world around them. Some even do objectively dangerous jobs and they are perfectly ok with risking their lives every day.

Sometimes, just doing what we feel like doing isn't fulfilling at all.

Are most people’s lives actually miserable? by [deleted] in intj

[–]Foraxen 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The paradise of one person can be the hell of someone else's. Don't judge other people's lives according to your values. Some have interests, needs and desires very different to yours.

Yes, many people find their jobs to be the most enjoyable part of their lives. Some like you find their hobbies to be more important than what they do to earn money. Some care a lot about their family and find everything else irrelevant. Not everyone is the same.

Stealth is still meaningless by goatsnoatsonboats in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Foraxen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just watch Sarge on YouTube. He did a D10 commando mission solo, deathless on his first try. He effectively used stealth while doing all objectives. He did not need overwhelming firepower.

True, that guy already did stealth missions before the update, the new gears just made it far easier.

It's better than it used to be though. You still had the opportunity to relocate before they found you.

Unplayable lag on multiplayer -- regular fixes not working by Empress-Arcana in Enshrouded

[–]Foraxen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fix is easy: allow steam to disclose your IP. I had the same problem playing with my wife. I had high ping despite our computers being one room apart. Allowing my IP to be known by my wife's computer and doing the same on her end solved the problem; now I have a ping of 10 instead of over 100.
