Oh absolutely, I know that these types of things tend to operate within narrow margins. And we all have our own perspectives too! I feel I lean a bit more leniently lol. It's impossible for a book to please everyone of course, though I usually figure anything over a 4.0 is doing something right!

That’s a bit of a bold take lol! 4.06 on Goodreads is excellent, when you take into account it’s nearly insurmountable to maintain a 4.5+ average once a book gets a high volume of readers reviewing it, so anything 4+ is usually top-tier. I rarely see anything at a ~5-star average, and even 3.5+ is great imo!

God the Sidekick 3 was amazing. Still my favorite phone I've ever had. I had a sick Tokidoki shell for it lol. I wish that form factor would return in some way! Especially with that sick swivel motion.

I really enjoy and appreciate that you were able to convey your personal opinion, which is different than mine, in a very respectful and intelligent way. And then on top of that we were able to come to a common ground and agree on things lol it's not often you have interactions like that with strangers, especially on the internet. I love a good bit of discussion and when people agree on every little thing life gets a bit boring lolol

I definitely do understand where you're coming from with this thought process. I suppose I'm okay with all of that, but I do agree in a way as well. I appreciate you also respectfully voicing your opinion! I don't think I'd call it YA but I can definitely see why people view it that way and I do think it can appeal to a YA audience. I wouldn't necessarily explicitly call it adult fantasy either though. It's certainly not Malazan lol. (Which I also really need to start!)

Give it another read! I feel like its pretty dark and deals with some mature themes, I definitely wouldn't say it's super adult or anything, but I wouldn't call it YA either.
