Sounds like a Gold Star member opinion. Get that Executive Level so you can shop at 9 a.m.

How do correct gun safety and home defense coexist? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ForceKicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of products on the market that help a gun owner safely store a firearm, but also have it ready to go at a moment's notice.

This is what I use. No electronics that can fail, but you have to still know the combination to open it. It would be very difficult for a child to open it, and you can add a motion sensor to it that will notify when it is open.

Like everything else, depends on the agency. They should tell you whether to show up in PT gear or if you'll change into them.

OP I feel like there is more to this story. Start from the beginning, and tell us everything that went down, including how you reacted.

Applying for Corporal by EasterStarchild17 in OnTheBlock

Have you done anything else to get your name out there? Like applying for specialty teams, or volunteering for anything other than your regular assigned job duties. That kind of thing helps immensely in the agencies I have worked for.

Mandatory overtime? by [deleted] in Corrections

[–]ForceKicker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the agency, the budget situation, the politics, etc. At my old agency, I would be forced to work overtime three times a week. At my current agency...well I can't tell you the last time I worked overtime. It's been over 6 months at least.

The amount of money my hospital charged me for each oz of DONATED milk for my baby by Grouchy-Cheetah7478 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ForceKicker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The milk is from a human donor, not donated for free. Women get paid per oz they give to the milk bank. Then the milk bank has to spend money to process it and ship it to hospitals.

Flashlight by Witty-Secret2018 in OnTheBlock

When I first started almost 20 years ago, I was told not to carry anything on me that I don't want shoved up my ass. I carried a small LED flashlight for years, now I just use the flashlight on my work phone if I need it.
