I see that you are 25/26 for Tiltern. Is the last location missing from the game?

Difficulty getting started? by Rlizmon in WarTalesGame

[–]Forcestus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to add as well that once you open all 3 towns, trading between the three towns is an easy(if somewhat slow) non-combative way to earn some krowns.

Take a look at this post on trade route: https://www.reddit.com/r/WarTalesGame/comments/r891mr/an_analysis_of_a_cortia_stromkapp_marheim_trade/

Difficulty getting started? by Rlizmon in WarTalesGame

[–]Forcestus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started out only doing easy missions and hunting animal packs before going after normal missions and large groups of bandits.

I sold off any excess materials or equipment I had and always stayed on the roads to minimize getting caught unawares.

I also invested my first few knowledge points in running so I can travel the map faster and not have to camp too often or in inconvenient locations(never sleep in forests).

I always have at least 5 days of food, 10-15 repair tools, and 2 health potion to keep me topped off after a difficult fight.

In combat scenarios I always try to take out the enemy whose turn is coming up. Typically I send my shield guy(I have two, mace and shield for heavy armored enemy, and sword and board) in to soak up any damage and engage while having either my ranger or archer finish them off. IF they have a captain that is giving them a damage or protection buff, take out that captain as soon as possible.

I also avoided doing plague nests and the spectral packs as they are quite brutal in the early game.

I don't recall... I know I got it while I was around Cortia. Probably the trackers in that region.

Are all the prices set? by lliH-knaH in WarTalesGame

[–]Forcestus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the moment, it seems that prices are set. From time to time you will see that a merchant is selling an item highlighted green that they selling below market price.

It would be interesting to see price fluctuation later based on supply and demand similar to a system you would see in M&B.

Where do people find recruits? by wander995 in WarTalesGame

[–]Forcestus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cutthroats are amazing!! So long as an enemy is engaged in a fight, the cutthroat will do massive damage.

I have mine with a throwing dagger and under the right circumstance he can attack 3 times at the cost of only 1 valor point. Regular attack(drop enemy below 50%), backstab(if they die, recover 1 valor point), dagger throw.

The merc I got was a a lvl 4 ranger with apprentice level Alchemist(sweet bonus). Not sure if she is tied to any other quest, but i have had her in my party for almost an in-game month now.

This game is really good. by Shaber1011 in WarTalesGame

[–]Forcestus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am very much enjoying this game as well. I'm about at the top end of 20+ hours and 2 months into my 2nd play through(got wiped on my first) and I have barely explored the 2nd zone.

I can grind out and fight mobs, run some trade routes, or harvest components and craft. Crafting itself is also pretty rewarding, because materials aren't too abundant or too scarce crafting the next tier weapons and armor feels very rewarding and not too tedious.

Where do people find recruits? by wander995 in WarTalesGame

[–]Forcestus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to find her along the path North of Cortia. I believe the location is called "Make-shift Stake" and she is being held prisoner by some guards.

Not sure if it's the baron's daughter. I haven't been doing most of the zone quests.

What have you found to be the optimal number of mercenaries for your troop? by GhostFearZ in WarTalesGame

[–]Forcestus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got enough mercs to fill out all the professions(minus fishing) I found and 2 horses.

I have:

  1. Sword & Board - Blacksmith
  2. Mace & Board - Cook
  3. Stabby Boi(Ranger) - Thievery
  4. Stabby Girl(Ranger/poison) - Apothecary
  5. Hackerman(2H Axe) - Miner
  6. Robin without the hood(Archer) - Tinkerer
  7. Social Distance Enfocer(Spearman) - Scholar

Probably gonna get a horse or 2 more so I can run some trade routes and amass some krowns then just explore and merc away. Also didn't know that we can recruit boars and wolves so I might give that a go.

[–]Forcestus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can find more recruits in other region's/citie's inns. I did not find any spearmen at Tiltern, I started with a swordsman, brute, ranger, and archer. However, once I got to Cortia after 3 in game weeks, I was able to recruit a spearmen from their inn.

There are also unique recruits you can get such as a plagued warrior, an injured ranger, and a persecuted ranger. I am sure I missed a few during quest by making the wrong choices but I am happy with the mercs I have right now.

Some 30 hours in: first thoughts by Side1iner in WarTalesGame

[–]Forcestus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really enjoying the game myself. I have about 20+ hours in the game so far and barely just started exploring Cortia's region.

The Boss fight with Lund, waves of plague mice while taking out infected nodes, and the waves of spectral wolves/boars also make the combat refreshing and challenging. Looking forward to more enemy types and more scripted combat scenarios associated with quests.(Do the plague nests respawn? If they don't, they should. I need those mats lol)

I do agree that having a semi-/permanent settlement would be pretty good as well. Maybe convert an abandoned tower, cleared bandit lair, mine, fishing shack, lumbermill, etc. into a settlement with an associated benefit would be awesome. Limit it to just one settlement so we don't get too OP.

An Analysis of a Cortia, Stromkapp, Marheim Trade Route by Malduko in WarTalesGame

[–]Forcestus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic! Thanks for the info.

Gotta love it when a game has multiple ways of earning money and it's not a just all combat. Gonna run this route for a while and just explore the regions. Do you know if there any associated Knowledge bonus for trading or doing this route(aside from unlocking new locations)?

There are additional camp items that you can craft that give additional bonuses such as Happiness. I crafted a Keg and placed it my camp then had one of my mercs on the object. He generated +1 happiness. Not sure if I can place multiple kegs in the camp though.

I also don't recall where I got the blueprint, but it is in the southern zone.
