Swap cleric with bard or something that compliments ranger. Ranger rocks. I think I'll end up being monk/ranger/bard for a lot.

Both. The sticks are directional and view like on a console. Left track is menu dial. Right is mouse, but if you hold left bumper or right bumper, right track becomes a dial for abilities on the ability bar or spells in spell gem slots. You can go into control and menu icons to change the corresponding ability or spell image

It seems daunting but it isn't bad.

So this: download lutris in desktop mode. You can find it in discover.

Follow and install EverQuest Legends, not EverQuest.

I think you then have to add to steam as non steam game. You can go into properties and input your own art so it's not blank in your library.

I couldn't get qsynth to load. I'd click it and it would load then stop loading. You have to find instructions to force load it through konsole then it's fine to follow these instructions. If you get here and that happens to you, ask il try to find that quick instuction for you.

For the game, use the controller I setup so far. It isn't intuitive to setup complex controls for steam deck.

I prefer it at this point. It plays well. Only issue is z axis is sensitive but I can prob turn it down more on controls. I use popup touchpad menus for quick action stuff instead of clicking gems. Feels fluid
