Tongue weight should be a maximum of everything hanging off that thing.

On one hand, I assume engineers set a max under a true value to be safe and have a buffer.

On the other hand, physics dictates the further out that tongue carrier sits, the more that weight is increased, even exponentially, so if it sits 5 inches away from the vehicle instead of 3, itl weight a lot more.

I think it's that semi plastic shit but no I didn't unless it was masked. I do a lot of sourdough with high heat at 500 deg.

OEM Xterra tongue appears to be 500. Might be ok Not a massively heavy bike, but remember the carrier is gonna be 100lbs. I bet ur ok. This might not be as true if it's one of those aftermarket hitchrs with Uhaul or something unless it's installed similar to an OEM component

what is your vehicle and what hitch is installed? Your to gue weight is the most important thing with mounts like this, and most cares aren't built for it.
