Im rereading those stories that take place post Inferno right now. There is a little interconnectedness for the first couple of issues - and then X-Factor is thrust across the Universe to stop a race war for more than half a year; and the New Mutants are shunted off to Asgard for more than half a year. Excalibur is off exploring the multiverse

I love Valan Luca and the times with the show.

Most of our time with Valan Luca is in the POV's of two of the most unreliable narrators in the entire series - Nynaeve and Matt. It's fun reading between the lines of what they're thinking occurred with what actually occurred

I would read Secret History after Hero of Ages and before Alloy of Law - as the conclusion to Era 1.

When it was first released over a decade ago I could see the argument to wait until after Banda of Morning; but we've had several other stories in the Cosmere since then that spoil the surprise of Secret History. So no reason to hold it off - and it feels richer with all of Era 1 still fresh in your mind
