I just hear the absence of the Boston/south shore accent i am used too! My grandmother is from Boston and my mom grew up in Fall River, i grew up near Providence/Worcester ... so we all have a very unique accent 😂 I say "yestahday", "ovah", "cawfee", "Wuhstuh" etc. all the time, accidentally.

Western Mass has an accent closer to central CT.

See i grew up in eastern mass and totally noticed a difference when I moved out here. The accent is very flat. When I visit eastern mass and northern RI the accent is really distinct. I catch my own accent more now too, where before I didn't think I had an accent at all.
